Keychron K8 Wireless* Mechanical Keyboard Review

This is the Keychron K8, a wireless mechanical keyboard that might just be one of the best value mechanical keyboards on the market. The model I have here, with the hot-swappable Gateron Brown switches, will set you back just £83.20 at the time of filming, or £104 at MSRP, which is definitely on the more budget end for good mechanical keyboards. The key word there, of course, is ‘good’ - is the K8 any good? In short, yes. If you want an explanation for that, stick around.

The Bluetooth only wireless connection is the main let down for me and that's why I opted for the Nuphy Halo75.

Got both the K8 Pro (with DSA keycaps) and K10 Pro. The K8 Pro is for use with my works laptop. It puts a lot more expensive mech keyboards to shame and i can not see me needing anything else.

I bought this exact keyboard with no-RGB but the same switches. I love the sound of it. I love the thockiness of it though it could be a tad bit more muted.
Couple downsides I have noticed.

1. If the wireless connection goes to "sleep" it takes several keypresses to wake it back up and so you have lost keystrokes fairly often. Probably doesn't happen if wired. I never use the cable though.
2. You cannot enter the BIOS with this keyboard in wireless mode. I haven't tried it while wired. It probably works in that case.
Otherwise it's a great keyboard. I can easily do between 75-80 WPM while typing in MonkeyType. I only use it on Windows. I wish the KB had come defaulted to Windows (since it's vastly more popular) so I needed to change out 3 or 4 keys with the included key puller.

Have the K10 and it's been great (gotta have a numpad) Always use it wired.

I wanted a wireless keyboard because I have to use a 50" 4K TV as a monitor so I have to be preferably about 3 meters away. I bought a Redragon K530 and the wireless feature worked for about two months and then started failing. Now I know it's a common problem with this keyboard.

I'm just shopping for my first proper mech keyboard and have decides om the keychron v2 max but this ome was on my potentials.
I'd have it wired to my home PC but wireless to work and personal laptops. Then I'll get rid of the kvm!
