External Authentication Methods Public Preview

External authentication methods (EAM) enable users to use an external provider when satisfying multifactor authentication requirements when signing in with Entra ID. External authentication methods enable users to satisfy MFA requirements from Conditional Access policies, Identity Protection sign-in risk policies, Privileged Identity Management (PIM) activation, and when the application itself requires MFA. We are entering into Public Preview in April 2024.

EAM became available to us in preview in May 2024, and Azure is requiring MFA claims in July 2024. Thanks for the whole 2 months to move away from CA custom controls for a huge organization 💀

So, we're federated through DUO SSO w/ mainly on-prem AD. Would EAM be beneficial?
