I have been a licensed remodeling contractor since 1988. I have tried them all. They are all a scam in my mind. Answer your phone, show up and take good care of your customers. The rest will fall in place.

There’s 2 reasons why he may have competitor ads on his Yelp page. It’s either he did not turn of competitor ads in the settings OR he’s not actually advertising. Also, we don’t have long term contracts. Great video !

It is getting worst. We used to get good leads from Yelp when there was only one or two at spots on the front page but now the whole front page is ads. Now every time we get a lead, there are at least (6) six other company’s bidding on same project.

I got dozens of harassment sales calls from reps for Yelp.

I’m paying $1000 a month for Yelp and they sending me many fake leads. The problem is that so far I don’t have any better alternative to receiving leads for my business.

Thank you for the request video! I've been a little skeptical with all providers and since I've mentioned that to the yelp sales rep, she actually offered $900 yelp ads spend. Since my business was established last year, I'm just trying to get my brand name out there especially since Denver Colorado is high in competition when it comes to roofing contractors. I'm also amazed how quick you got this video out and how diligent you are to your subscribers! Good work man, we at Soso Roofing Inc really appreciate you for this!

First I’ll say when they call you tell them “put me on the do not call list” in the exact words.

Second I would not recommend advertising it works for very few people I worked there for 3 1/2 years they love contractors because contractors always like to spend money on advertising but it’s just as bad as Angie’s list in my opinion

So, the initial yelp page is free as long as you don't commit to Yelp's credits options and ad

Stay away!!! If you start advertising with them and then stop. They will hide 5 star reviews. When I called them out on it, they said advertising with help them come back. They are the scum of the marketing world!!!!

The truly amortized cost of a Yelp lead, is cost prohibitive. For example, if you land one out of 8 leads, the cost of the lead for that lead is NOT the lead cost of that job. No, you have to fold in the costs of all the leads that produced that job. If Yelp is charging $80 per lead, your cost was not $80. It was $80 X 8, or $640. That was the true cost to land that job, from a bottom feeder customer with price as the primary criteria. Yelp really really sucks.Worse yet, it's like heroin. The money you spent on Yelp is money you didn't spend on optimizing your own web presence; the only damn thing Yelp does. Now, you're beholden to Yelp for a shitty price driven transaction fighting with other contractors to eat. Notice most established companies won't touch Yelp. It's the hungry 35 year old who's willing to be in a foot race with another 35 year old. Yelp is the pits.

That has been our experience as well. Lots of clicks, phone calls from scam SEO companies, surprise charges and no ROI. And once you stop paying all your reviews go away anyway!

They suck. Bunch of cheap people calling everyone in the phone book for the LOWEST price. These type of customers aren’t looking for quality.
