Listen, as a former hardcore Sharpwin shipper… Helen’s character will always hold a special place in my heart but she was completely botched in S4. She approached the relationship with one foot in, one foot out the entire time and Max was constantly putting his all into something that she never seemed completely sure about. And I would find it unfair and regressive to Max’s character if he went back to her because she hasn’t earned that forgiveness. I’m honestly hoping she just wants to meet to give him a full and complete sincere apology after what she did. I mean they were good friends long before they got together so to see them end that way was tragic. I mean the man stayed by her side during her stroke. I’m sure that’s the bare minimum you’d expect from your fiancé but I just hated seeing such a good guy like Max get hurt when all he did was love that woman with everything in him.

Dr. Wilder is an incredible character on her own and her and Max connect on so many levels. They have an adorable chemistry and Max deserves happiness with someone who can reciprocate his love effortlessly without the concern that they’ll just up and abandon him. I think they’d have a happy life together and that’s why I’m rooting for them instead.

I loved Helen so much but she abandoned us. She abandoned Max and she abandoned poor Luna. Elizabeth is so beautiful and so perfect and exactly who Max deserves at this point. I really hope Helen just leaves because she'll only be doing more harm if she stays

After the writers ruined her character in s4 and s5, as a Helen fan, I have to say I don't want her back. Her relationship with Max had cracks from the start, due to both characters having their own issues. I just want Freema out of this landslide of a show.

This show knows how to piss me off!. Helen and Max are supposed to be MARRIED and now y'all want to keep playing with our emotions. Max better choose Helen. Like we hoped over the last 3 years

Why do they have to keep manipulating the audience like this. It's the last season, just let Max sail into the sunset with Dr.Wilder and be done with it. Helens story has run it's course.

I’m disappointed.

You sell me on Max and Helen for four seasons, and then pull the rug right from under them, when you could’ve just let them get married and just let Sharp be off screen for the final 13 episodes of the series.

Max could have referenced her in conversations and you could’ve had her wrapping things up in London offscreen to rejoin him at series end (off screen).

Instead of trying to start a new romance for Max, we should’ve been watching Max focus on bringing The Dam back into its former glory like it was under his previous tenure.

And then you give us some lame excuse for why they ended. I’m supposed to except that Helen just walked away from Max and Luna and she doesn’t know WHY??? Especially when she supposedly loved him and wanted to be a mother and Max was giving her both?

Are you telling me that they haven’t had a face-to-face in six months? That she just walked away from that little girl who calls her Mum, without a backward glance??

What happened to Max and Luna’s stuff in London? Is that still there at their former apartment? Did she pack it up and ship it to them? Did she return the ring? Or is that going to happen in episode 511? Does she give him his ring back then? So you tease Sharpwin so that she can provide him closure so that he can move on with Wilder?

Now, I love Wilder’s character, but I certainly wasn’t looking for Max to be pushed into another relationship so soon.

And, what about Helen’s closure? In season one she tells her then-love interest Dr. P that she came with a lot of baggage. Clearly, the clues were there throughout her and Max’s relationship.

But Helen doesn’t get HER closure, does she? She still has Mommy issues. She still has abandonment issues. Makes you wonder that had Muhammad lived was it just a matter of time for THAT relationship to unravel too?

This series started taking a serious nose dive when you brought in Fuentes and stayed WAY too long on that storyline .

And then you sent Max to London, where he became a fish out of water, because he was way too qualified to be hired by anybody who would only see him as a threat to their own jobs, while NA unraveled under Fuentes thumbs.

And so you bring Helen back to test Max’s feelings for Wilder? Seriously?
And now we’re supposed to accept Helen was nothing more than a stepping stone to his new relationship with Wilder as the endgame? That she was part of his growth as a character??

Seriously? Is that even necessary?
Because I can’t see Helen coming back to New York. She certainly doesn’t appear to be doing that with that interview clip (although we know that was a throwback clip with the reference to NHS in bold).

We know that Max will NOT leave new Amsterdam a second time. He won’t do that to Luna again. Though Helen never asked him to go to London, we know that was all Max. STILL, he did it because of her.
And Helen won’t be leaving London.
And so we’re asked to accept Helen and Max’s relationship as a great big old DUD.

All of the relationship messes aside, here’s to a disappointing ending to what was once a wonderful series.

I hope Helen/freema doesn't set foot on that show after what they did to her character in season 4 . she deserves much better. Let Max ride into the sunset with whom he chooses not her.

sigh sometimes I wish they never started sharpwin at all if the knew freema wanted to leave they could have introduced wilder in season 4 and made her a better match for max after Georgia instead of this mess we got. I will admit at least a little of the old magic is back with veronica gone and no longer sucking the life of this series the medical stories have returned to the amazing form they had in the first three seasons hell even the roe v wade episode which i thought would go poorly moved me to tears. my only compliant is I wish they stop using Lauren as this show punching bag she been way too much in this show's five season run get her a damn break.

Only reason Wilder is in the picture is because the actress who played Helen left the show. Helen and Max’s chemistry was off the charts.

As rocky as sharpwin was I will always be on that team. That love story is everything. Yes Helen fucked up big time but fear has a way of doing that to alot of us. they better make this work out in their favor. I'm sorry Dr wilder. But I honestly feel like max will probably never love you as much as he loves Helen. I could be completely wrong but I don't see it. You just happened to be there and he falls in love to fast 😩
