I also loved how in TASM, they incorporated more spider like movements. Like when he's fighting the lizard in the school in the first movie and wraps around him like an actual spider would webbing up their prey when webbing him up. It's literally just a few seconds but SO cool and one of my favorite scenes from the movie. As much of a Raimi fanboy I am, I really love and appreciate the Webb movies as well.

My jaw dropped watching the Japanese Spiderman doing a real swing under that bridge. The lengths these people were willing to go just for their art is incredible.

18:24 My man hit them with the "some of you may die.. but that is a sacrifice i'm willing to make"

I like how often Garfield Spider-Man 'short shifts' his swings. Instead of always taking the full swing, he'll shoot a new web to change directions or just keep building momentum. It's really cool.

costume design is severely underrated! the raised webbing and logo, the lights shining on the manmade textures, the bits of imperfection are what makes it perfect!

The 2002 final swing will always mean the most to me. Seeing that in the theatre when I was 7 was the craziest thing, it still gives me chills

While a regular person _would_ have trouble swinging, they'd most likely lose their grip before their arm would rip off, but Spider-man's super strength is what prevents him from injuring himself during swinging. They even comment on it in TAS when he loses his powers temporarily. He tries swinging and injures himself and says he can't swing without his spider-strength.

His body is strong enough to lift 10 tons or more depending on the version, so supporting his own body weight is no problem at all. It's also why he's able to generate so much momentum by kicking his legs out when swinging. Basically like gymnasts do on the bars but with exponentially more energy.

I swear my whole life, when I saw MJ in Tobey’s Spider-Man’s arms, I thought that was a real guy. *I’ve been living a lie*

0:15 spiders actually do swing on their webs. I once watched a spider on my ceiling jump off and swing on his little string then climb back up and do it again. Idk if he was building or just having spidey fun.

it baffles me how huge the quality drop it is from TASM to MCU when putting them side by side.

I had no idea how much of TASM's swinging was done practically! That rig at 12:50 is awesome

It's funny how some of the peak CG was a decade ago.

One thing I love about TASM is that it has the most swings with two webs attached to the same building, only a few feet apart to turn, it just feels more human than any other spider-man swinging I have ever seen

Videos like this puts Netflix, Prime & HBO to shame. The amount of work and sheer human talent in making the OG swings literally blew me away.

Spiders indeed do swing on their webs my friend. Have you never watched them? They make a very long web, then crawl up it to make it longer, then they jump to reach their destination. It’s how cob webs across walkways and sidewalks are made. I’ve even seen spiders use the branches in our trees for momentum. It’s incredible

Whenever I see Tom's spiderman it just looks like he's floating and just holding a static web line, TASM web slinging was peak movement
