How Lainey Wilson Took Over Country Music

Lainey Wilson has become one of the biggest superstars in all of country music, racking up hits like "Heart Like A Truck," "Things A Man Oughta Know," and "Watermelon Moonshine" — not to mention a plum role on Yellowstone — but it was a LONG journey to success. This video is my attempt to chronicle the Louisiana native's path to becoming a country powerhouse.

She was an opening act at a music festival I went to last year. During her set, the weather went from nice to lightning and tornado warning. They had to shut down the festival. But even though they forced her band off stage, she stood out there in the pouring down rain and sang Heart Like a Truck a cappella so that her fans would get to hear it. Nothing but respect for her for that.

I’m from Weaver Alabama a little small rural town where we only have 2 dollar general stores multiple farms and a Walmart about 15 minutes down the road in another little town, but I say all that because when I hear Laniey Wilson talk about her hometown, she reminds me of my hometown. She reminds me of some of my friends that I went to high school with went to football games on a Friday night with, played volleyball with. she just gives you that hometown feel and she let’s you know that it’s OK, to like country music no matter who you are. I love all kinds of music and I love how Laniey gives you that Hometown feel. I really admire her as an artist songwriter and she has an incredible voice.❤

I came across Lainey Wilson opening for Ashley McBryde a few years ago and wad WAY impressed - I even looped around to catch her again.
Great voice, Great songs, and she works her ass off. (Well... maybe not literally, butvit didn't hurt any that she's a looker - i SURE DIDN'T delete any of my Lainey pics from the shows i caught. LOL)
Overall, she's mire than deserving of all she accomplished and i look forward to seeing her have a long & stong career arc
