This is the most beautiful choral piece ever written. Kudos to the Xhosa people who first sang this.

A proud Tuks Graduate watching all the way in China where I am currently teaching. Tuks gave me the best 4 years of my life!!! I remember Tuks Camerata did a flash mob at the main campus Merensky Library singing this very song, I was in tears! Especially that “oh baba” part it hit me hard❤️

I have heard this song sung by many other choirs and i must say that University of Pretoria is my favourite one. They nailed it, voice projection, expressing emotion to the song... Perfection indeed!!

Proud Camerata Alumni... what a masterpiece. I’m missing Tshego and Ithabeleng’s pleading alto voices.. those were the days. Great work Micheal.

Greetings from Texas! This song is beginning to catch on with American choirs more, such a wonderful song. A couple of comments, having listened to several versions of this on YouTube. I agree that there should be more bass, although I wonder if it’s the recording. TUKS performance is amazing, especially the way they emphasize the dissonances in the chords. It gives it a great emotional tension befitting the text. One things I prefer in the Stellenbosch performance is that it sounds like a solo being improvised over slow moving chords.

Not only are all these performances absolutely incredible, they are a nice exhibition of our rainbow nation. But why don't they have this competition every year?

Goosebumps when choreo comes in! Greatest move of all time...

Dr Michael Barret is a Legend! Brilliant composition. I loved the adjustment of Jehova to Yehova to suit the Xhosa narrative.

Outstanding Ovation.
