Hi Everyone,

I know Quiet Luxury trend has been around for a while, but to me this is NOT a trend and you can apply it to your wardrobe whenever you want. You just need to understand the principles of the style and make it your own.
This video is sponsored partnership with LILYSILK, but it doesn’t affect my honest opinion about the clothes.

I've been working my closet towards quiet luxury for the past 5 years not even knowing it was a thing. The best quality I can afford, natural materials, and classic cuts are my style. Great video Mariola.

I agree with you that "quiet luxury" is a lifestyle. This aesthetic has been around for decades and I love it. Your style is right up my alley. The silk blouse with the one button is stunning, but as a 66 year old woman, I probably would find that uncomfortable to wear. You were about the 12th fashion influencer that has been promoting Lily Silk garments, but it was refreshing to see some different options. Your styling tips were very helpful today. Thank you.

I love the balance of your outfits. You look casual and elegant. I am sometimes worried about classic neutral outfits becoming boring but you showed how to make them interesting by pairing different textures etc. I don’t put much thought into bags and jewellery so I was interested to hear your thoughts about those. There were lots a great tips overall. Thank you.

You are absolutely right: Quiet luxury is a lifestyle. I love the knitted top and the white baby kashmir jumper, they are beautiful investments. Greetings from Germany!

Many of us have ALWAYS dressed this way. About 50% of my wardrobe is Ralph Lauren vintage. I have wonderfully classic items in mostly neutral colors. I do have some Rl print dresses in pink prints. These too never really go out of style...they work for me perfectly. I have three linen midi skirts for summer also RL. Blazers, blouses, v neck sweaters on and on slacks shorts etc.all RL. These have been purchased over 20 years. I never ever get rid of them...I do cycle them through depending on current style. Almost are silk, linen, wool, cashmere, or cotton.

I am very hard to fit in shoes. THOSE are my problem always. Summer is solved with my favorite pair of walking sandals in a silvery gold that goes with either metal. It is easiest for me to find boots for winter that for my 8 1/2 B front A heel of foot. Regular size 8 1/2s do not fit me. In boots I can use socks to adjust my heel width. I CAN wear slingbacks, , , low ones with BLOCK heels but they are hard to find almost always...those sculptural tiny heel circumference at the bottom shoes cant be worn without wobbling dangerously on cobblestones here risking a sprained ankle. I do wear sports shoes for casual as is the fashion now. But shoes for dressy looks for me are all but impossible to find even when I return to MIchigan Avenue in Chicago with a selection of thousands of shoes. I went searching for a solid week this summer and only found one pair of nice esparadrilles.

It is easy to dress in classic style. And cost effective too, per wear, plus the feel of the fabrics are unbeatable compared with cheap fashion.

I’ve always dressed quietly, classic style, modestly, and nothing too extreme, and I love luxury fabrics/materials, especially silk and genuine leather. This style is one that I’ve always employed, long before it got its name Quiet Luxury. It’s really only about buying high -quality items and not dressing in a sexy, super-trendy or showy way, but using restraint and simplicity instead. Unfortunately, this term and Old Money style have received a lot of political and social criticism, but people keep searching for media and brands that feature it by the multi-millions. It seems that everyone wants to wear it, but to criticize it, too, strange.

Silk knit/jersey is absolutely the best, I love wearing it. It’s difficult to find, though, I’m always looking for items in it. Lily Silk has some, but I already added most of them to my wardrobe years ago. My navy silk knit top with a white collar is one of my most-worn items.

My hypersensitive skin can’t tolerate synthetics, even in blends, and I overheat in them before long, anyway. They are just plastics, they don’t breathe at all and the sharp fibers irritate the skin. I love soft fabrics and discovered silk, my favorite, by looking for something soft that is comfortable to wear. Now I have many silk items and wear them three seasons, and linen in summer. I can overheat even in cotton in the summers, but at least it’s breathable. High quality, eco-friendly versions of rayon, like Tencel and Ecovero are really nice, soft and breathable, they are fabrics I also love. I just avoid the very thin rayon/viscose at fast-fashion brands, it puckers and goes limp.

We have 3 dogs, 2 very big, and we live in endless summer. Cotton and linen are my life. I have winter clothes for the holiday trips stateside, and I don't own any type of blazer anymore.

My favorite fashion/style quote, I think from the late designer Vivienne Westwood, goes something like: buy fewer but better, choose carefully and make your things last. This is the way to achieve this “trend”, which is nothing new, the most chic women have been dressing this way (Quiet Luxury) for a hundred years. When it’s time to add something to my wardrobe, I look at the brands I love and choose just a few high-quality, classic, but up-to-date items. Having a limited color palette and an idea of one’s most flattering style elements, helps, too, and I search by fiber/material to eliminate all the junk if shopping a new brand. Another quote I love: “I’m too poor to buy low-quality clothes”. It’s actually true, this incredible abundance of trendy styles every minute is very new, only 20 years old or so, and adds up to more expense in the end. I’m 63, and still shop the “old way”, a few items I really love at a time.

Lovely. I love all these fabrics. My dilemma is upkeep. All these items are dry clean only?
