I’ve been into this style for a long time, I wouldn’t even consider it a “trend”😀

Basically, we were “old money” dressing in the 1980s. We wore cashmere, silk, black, white, tan, navy, gold accessories and were awesome.

Would love to see a video of old money dedicated to dresses for different occasions: weddings, ladies luncheon, date nights, charity events, in the workplace, casual travel, etc. I favor your style. Thank you!

A look book on "old money" style would be great! What I love is that you feature items and outfits any age can wear and feel stylish and effortless! Thank you!

As an Italian wedding planner, the combo "white, blue and yellow" always reminds me of the beautiful Mediterranean - Amalfi Coast seaside atmosphere with lemons and everything

Glad you said “old money style” as a tongue in cheek phrase. At 63 this is the way most grownups I knew dressed regardless of where they were socioeconomically. For most people “ back in the day” you didn’t have a lot of discretionary income to spend on clothing so you chose carefully with what you purchased. Anyway great ideas and a look book would be nice. And the Lily Silk stripe shirt is great-I have it too.

This embodies my style, I love all the looks, I don't really find that money has anything to do with it. These are literally classic pieces that will last in your wardrobe and you wear over and over. That's the point of a good functional and stylish wardrobe. You can wear any accessory and it looks chic and timeless. What's not to love about that?

Last year it was the Coastal Grandma aesthetic, which includes a lot of the looks you are showing today. It appears that the "Quiet Luxury" label is to promote quality pieces that will stand the test of time. They are classics. I applaud you, Lydia for wearing jumpers over your shoulders. I have been wearing cardigans over my shirts, blouses and dresses for years now. It gets really chilly inside stores and restaurants here in Phoenix, so even in the over 100 degree temperatures, I throw that cardigan/jumper over my shoulders with confidence. I believe it can be coined a more "preppy" look. Loafers also fall under the "preppy" style - kind of Ralph Lauren styling. I love loafers and I love all the looks you are presenting today. As always, you look marvelous! Hope your cold gets better soon.

I worked in fashion showrooms in Paris for a few years on Rue Saint Honoré and this is actually the dress code that they mandate to the sales reps for most of the upscale brands! The nails were super important, and when you mentioned that later in the video, I was reminded of this. I am far away from that life now but these « rules » sort of haunt me til this day haha. You look so incredibly elegant and pretty and this aesthetic really suits you. ❤

This has always been my favorite esthetic and I don't even own a luxury item. I don't know what's making people so bent out of shape over this. No one is telling you to buy luxury. Just go for classic, more tailored pieces at your price range. It's what I've always done, anyways. I'm soooo on board with expending on the topic, Lydia!

I have been aiming for this look all my life! And I am now 67, and find this look is suitable for all ages. I do laugh when you say vintage being '90's😊 sadly I ditched alot of my big earings a good 30 odd years ago. Think Dallas and Dynisty! It has made me realise I should stick to my comfort zone and not try and keep up with all the new trends. Absolutly love your choices. Thank you.

The striped blouse is so cute! I'm team "no jumper over the shoulders." Maybe it's just me, but it feels like the opposite of effortless because I have to move like the Tin Man to keep it from falling off. 😅

Totally agree with everything specially the long crazy nails…. I can’t understand how that looks pleasing to eyes let alone how cheap it looks.

Classy decorum ! Lydia I’m here in the USA and I wish woman would take more time to put themselves together . I can’t believe the sloppy and lazy look that has been showcased throughout the years . Sweatpants, p.J’s, slippers, work out clothes etc… not only out and about but very common in places of worship and the workplace.
I appreciate you and other utubers ( influencers) bringing a classy preppy and dignified style awareness to a generation that has lost all sense of decorum. I can’t tell you how many young men even comment on the way young women are dressing ….trashy, to sexual and to sloppy ….keep up this positive and classy content.much love from sunny Florida USA
