This is the best TV series ever written, marvellous cast, keeps you riveted to the screen, I like a lot of similar series, but this takes the top spot for me to watching it all again and not for the first time..

Best series ever to come from Welsh television . The actors gelled perfectly, background set just right in the brooding landscape of west Wales. Will never understand why series wasn’t continued. It set a benchmark anything since has yet to reach.

Love this series. Watched for Mr. Harrington’s involvement but everyone is splendid in their roles.

Love the running bit where the phone rings after a call was made a moment ago…but it’s always DC Lloyd Ellis on the other end. “Yes (pause) What is it, Lloyd?” 😄

I watched this the nights I watched Vera. I miss y enjoyed it. There's an aire of mystery in both shows. The scenery is to die for. You actually feel like you are their solving the mysteries with them, you feel their emotional pains.

Love Richard Harrington ever since he played Dr Woodcourt in Bleak House. This series is excellent seen it all. He is a bloody good actor😉

I liked Hinterland. Watched it twice. I was always waiting for a fourth season but no show.

I forgot a criticism, how can it be that the head of the police station is always sloppy, without combing his hair and with his shirt wrinkled, terrible.

didnt care for this series at all. season 1 was enough for me.
although the acting was fine & the stories very interesting, the characters were all so odd, cold, disjointed. the cops never spoke to each, there was no camaraderie between them, the chief seemed very antagonistic to everyone there. you never even see anyone even enjoying a meal, or interacting with anyone in or out the precinct. theyre like cardboard characters not flushed out by the writers.
plus the scenery is awful, not only the constant barreness & its void of any color or interest, the people seem poor, miserable, their homes not upgraded since they were built in the 1800s & their properties look like junk lots. why not do an interesting vibrant location in wales. there are many.
ive been to cardiff & several towns(some in southern part, brecon, tintern, etc..) in wales that are beautiful & captivating with so much interesting scenery & history. all the people the cops question barely talk or show emotion.its so weird. 2 teen boys find a beautiful dead woman in the marsh & they barely blink an eye. the cop tells someone that so & so was murdered & they look at them. i know the whole 'stiff upper lip toughness of the welsh, but this is overkill. i wouldnt want to even visit this area for fear of being beat to death for saying the wrong hello & buried in the marsh while the towns people just look the other way...'so as not to get involved'. when youre telling a story about gruesome murders, you need some uplifting scenes to go with it where life goes on & there is happiness & redemption to have.
it could have been so much more, so this was a disappointment for me.

I like it, but it seems like a third world series, with many shortcomings, firstly if a policeman does not carry weapons and investigates a violent crime he cannot go anywhere at night unarmed, secondly it is not known to which country he belongs, at no time will he He sees a representative flag, not even in the police station, third there is no sensual scene, a series cold as an iceberg, fourth if it is an English series where the beautiful women of that beautiful country are, the only beautiful one is the blonde sergeant. fifth they are all short, sixth the houses, their roads are totally mediocre, they should imitate the Americans.
