Very skilled script writing and storylines, immersed in some of Mid Wales most breathtaking scenery.
Certainly a production worth purchasing on dvd, as no matter how old it gets, it will stand the test of time, as one of the finest dramas produced by S4C

MM is for the old biddies at home and tourist fodder for the foreign market. It's mild, middle of the road tosh that has become a bit of a joke here. Don't get me wrong, I've watched it but Hinterland is a different kettle of fish. More akin to The Killing or The Bridge type of scandi noir drama, which it pre dated. I adore it. Classy, dark, unique. When it first appeared, I groaned. I thought they'd attempted to copy the new, popular scandi style. A Welsh, S4C attempt at a dark detective noir style, I laughed inside. "No way", I thought. But then after Tivo had recorded 3 episodes, I thought I'd watch the first one, so that I could free up some space by deleting them. Wow. I was wrong. It was brilliant.

Kudos to the creators for this remarkable series.
