Why dual forms won’t ❌ work 😮

Ugh seeing all the videos out there where they show that you can do nails like this (putting the polygel on the nail then squishing it down with a dual form) and have them come out perfectly formed drives me crazy. It's not that easy. Also - love those colored polygels! 😍

I hate those misleading videos. When I first started using polygels I tried that method only to have lifting in a few days, sometimes even hours! So why spend the time of they're only gonna fall off??? I was so disappointed at first. But then I started watching videos like these for the education. And my last set lasted 8 weeks!!! Only one finger lifted and I'm a hairstylist!!! So there!😊

I've tried dual forms, but man it was way harder as I expected!
I've got pretty long natural nails too, that didn't help. For me, sculpting with poly gel is easier

But how do you get the Polly gel to not go over the nail when you apply it to the nail

I put hybrid gel over my natural nails ALL the time! I use it as an overlay. I love how durable it is and that it isn't as hard as acrylic. Now if I could just figure out how to do a fill with dual forms instead of having to remove all the old product and start over....

Yea I use polygel or dip power on my nails. Took me roughly 4 months to get the application just right, they would always release/pop off after 2-3 weeks😂

I have only used polygel for repairs on my natural nails. In my limited expense, it is much easier to work with when you hsve a lot of slip solution/alcohol on your brush. Just make sure you let it all evaporate before curing.

I got a kit, and it worked for the first time. The second time, I had an allergic reaction because the gel was too thick and didn't cure all the way.

I do dual forms or somewhat now. I use a soft gel tip instead and use hard gel. They don't stick as well as my gel x method but they work. And yes. Today I fixed a nail that popped off yesterday and I forgot to do the apex. I had to build it on top which made the nail bumpy and lumpy and made everything ugly looking. But I had to as the nail wasn't structurally sound to not bend and snap.

polygel with applied with dual forms didn't work for me at all and came off within two weeks. Just popped off like press ons. So my nail tech applies it like acrylic (cause I just get an overlay) and that works so well for me. They've never popped off or even chipped and last well beyond 4 weeks for me

I got really good a poly gel because it was the only thing I could use that didn’t irritate my skin. This last time I used it My nails were beautiful, then the allergy came back full force. I had to take them off after two days. It was horrible. No more gel of any kind for me and that makes me so sad.

I love dual forms! duel? dual? duel? But I love poly gel more because you don't even need a form sometimes for repairs and fill-ins.

I know nothing about polygel, but is it similar to gel polish? I ask because if gel polish touches your skin you may develop an allergy to it or get irritation, i’m just wondering if the same can happen with polygel since this technique causes it to spill out and touch the skin around the nail. Someone let me know cuz the curiosity is killing me
