In San Antonio, Texas we (original from northeast mass coast) rented an open concept living room, kitchen, beautiful place, new build, but it was noisy in the kitchen, cookin doin dishes, that if some of us were trying to relax and watch TV while ppl were in the kitchen worming, it was really really annoying. For me. I'd rather have a small kitchen 25% and large living room 75%. This is just my 2c. As for mac, RJ and Kinsley, their houses are still gorgeous

Easier way to add texture wood have been to take some thick chains and wack away. Alot Easier and faster. But good job with what you had.

Gosh we did this 47 years ago in our first home. Nice to see someone doing the same. We foolishly sold to soon and a tricky realtor gave us a price and gee the buyer a day later was his brother. Young and dumb. How unethical was that????

One of the best things for ageing wood like that is whacking it with big chunky chains. It looks more natural than hammer marks.
