The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the obvious choice for the title of Android's best "productivity" smartphone. But what makes the Note 8 so good for getting things done?

There's the S Pen of course, but is all Galaxy Note 8 productivity reliant on the stylus? What about other features like App Pairing for multi-window mode? Or just split screen generally on the taller aspect ratio?

How important are battery life and Samsung DeX? A phone isn't much good if it can't go the distance, and has DeX improved since we first tried it out with the Galaxy S8?

I switched to the iPhone earlier this year. I like the look of the Samsung and Pixel 2 phones, and thinking to switch back to an Android phone in the new year. Not sure which one though.

I am glad that you have done this video. So many reviews sites compare it to other 'normal' phones which is wrong in my view. The SPen makes it significantly different that it really is on its own.

I use off screen memo often than Samsung Notes because of the black background.

One handed mode feels more like equal the screen like a smaller phone in a giant slab... which is great for thumb-reach while holding the phone one-handed... for Note 8's huge body, imagine holding a walkie-talkie because of the length.

Some of the exact same features are present on my Galaxy S7. There is Private Mode, which hides files behind a security partition. There's One Handed Mode, activated exacty like this one. Of course I have Split-Screen, but Samsung had that on the S3 five years ago. I know Note8 is a more advanced device, but not all tricks in this video are distinguishing features.

The S-Pen keeps the screen cleaner too ... I used it about 90% of the time every day when I had my Note7

I was about to say something about that dual messenger feature. But I had another way around that. This is why I respect Facebook messenger app and the TextNow app the most. I use TextNow to text and Facebook for family and friends. Because, well that's all they use instead of Hangouts and whatsapp. Lol. But the chathead function on Facebook messenger app and TextNow app is more useful than harmful. These two apps plus multiwindow allows 4 apps on screen. Because the messaging apps are floating bubbles. And both apps show you how many messages you have unread. Make calls and video chats right from apps. Very underatted messaging apps. Dual messenger isn't a new thing. If you've used Samsung phone before, you should know that you can keep a second app in secure folder .

I do like using the secure folder a lot for my business documents and remote connections. Adds another layer of protection from those apps/files.

Switched to iPhone last year and have missed Samsung and android since. Switching back to the note asap. Didn’t know about dual messenger though. That’s an awesome feature that I’m excited about for sure.

Is it possible to have a youtube video playing while you're writing an email? The reason I ask is because my Galaxy S6 Edge has the multi-window function but the apps aren't active unless the window is selected, which then makes the other window in-active. So you cannot have a youtube video playing at the same time when writing an email.
