This is one of the most golden videos I’ve ever seen in my whole life. I call family meetings every Sunday and force everybody to watch it. My son hasn’t really gotten the grasp of the concept yet and he’s starting to piss me off. I’m giving him one more week. He thinks being four years old is an excuse

When I'm outside, talking to strangers, or at work, I've been told I speak in a very authoritative way. My ex recognized that too. But when I was with her, I spoke in a much softer way. I think it's one of the reasons she broke up with me :I

Thanks Kevin. "Rapport breaking tonality" means speaking with an unapologetic, non-supplicating, downward tonality. On the other hand, you can break rapport through many means some of which include eye contact, body language, tonality and the actual words you say.

Omg, there was this colleague that I never really respected but never knew why. And now this video totally nailed it.. A very high" let me kiss your ass" voice tone. It was front and center but didn't see it. Thanks for these videos. It's like what every body should know but doesn't .

Thanks BDub! Once you start to really pay attention to your tonality and play around with it you'll be on the fast track to improvement.

I use rapport seeking inflections with my patients and it seems to work very well in that setting. perhaps it implies respect and gives them the confidence that I truly care about them.

I have to say I watched one of your videos 2 years ago and I am so much better at engaging people now. I am a curt person but in other situations I would find myself with the high pitched voice in asking questions. Big no no. So now I understand what I have been doing wrong all these years.
Thanks a bunch.

I never thought that there was this much to communication. I know I sound like a fan boy, but this stuff is goldddd I tells you! Thanks a lot for sharing this Barron.

Tone is important! When you were forced to say sorry to someone when you were a child, they could tell if you didn't mean it from your tone, not the words. I SEE WHAT YOUR SAYING, KAKLJLEJFKLJKLDFJLS:LFKJ
