About this video: This video is a step-by-step guide on how to add a world to your Minecraft server. We show you how to add a single player world to your Minecraft server as well as how to add a custom map to your server. The reason we show you how to add both kinds of a maps to a Minecraft server is because the process of add them to the server is the exact same for both. Thus, without anymore delay, here is how to get a custom world on your Minecraft server!

The first step of installing a world on your Minecraft server is either downloading a Minecraft map online or finding your single player world and getting that prepped to be added to your Minecraft server.

As far as downloading a custom map for your Minecraft server goes, we have a list of 15 custom maps for Minecraft linked above. These will always be in the newest version. When you find a Minecraft map that you want to add to your server, click the green download button under it. You will then be taken to the map’s official download page. On this page, you will be able to download your custom map.

After you have the custom map downloaded, you will need to right-click on it and click extract all. Then, click into these folders until you see folders like ‘data’, ‘dim1’, and ‘dim-1’. When you see these, click the back arrow in the top left. Drag-and-drop this folder to your desktop. You now have your custom world ready to install on your Minecraft server.

What if you want to use a single player world though. Well, in that case, press the Windows Key on your keyboard and ‘R’ at the same time. This will open up the Run app. In this app, type ‘%appdata%’ and hit enter. Click your .minecraft folder and the the saves folder. Here, you will see all of the single player Minecraft worlds you have. Right-click on the one you want to add your server and click copy. Then, go to your desktop, right click, and click paste. We can now move on to how to add a world to a Minecraft server!

To install a world to a Minecraft server, open up the server files, and find the world folder. Delete this folder. Then, drag-and-drop the folder with the map you want to install into your server folder. This could be the custom map you download or the single player world you want to install.

Finally, to get a custom map on a Minecraft server, right-click on the world or map folder you moved into the server folder, click ‘rename’, and name it ‘world’. It must be all lower case and spelled exactly like that.

You can now join your server and you will have a new world installed! That is how to add a custom map to a Minecraft server. Its really hard for me to read and follow whats on your screen, since the font is way to small and pixelated. You use only a very small percentage of your screen. You have so much space to work with, maybe something to improve on your next vid 👍
