Dr Sarat Chandra is one of the most experienced Interventional Cardiologists of India. After completing his MD & DM from the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Chandigarh in the year 1989, he has been working in Hyderabad. Dr Sarat Chandra is one of the early Interventional Cardiologists of India and did the first ‘Device closure of Congenital Heart defect’ in Hyderabad and also the first case of Rotational atherectomy in 1994. Dr Sarat Chandra has a large experience in coronary angioplasty and has a special interest in Left main and complex interventions. He performed several cases of non-operative treatment ‘AORTIC ANUERYSMS’ by using Stent-grafts. He performed coronary interventions abroad during Live workshop in china and Vietnam in 1998 and 2004 respectively. Dr Sarat Chandra was chairman of the National Interventional Council of India during the years 2008 and 2009. He was Editor of Indian Heart Journal from 2012 to 2014 and President of Cardiological Society of India for the year 2018. He has won Lifetime achievement award by World Congress on Clinical, Preventive & Geriatric Cardiology – 2009, Vaidya Siromani award by Tyagaraya Gana Sabha – 2010. Dr Sarat Chandra is a member of Cardiological Society of India, Indian College of Cardiology, American College of Cardiology, Founder Member of Coronary Artery Disease, Association of Physicians of India, Indian Medical Association.
