For all of you wondering it does actually work just freeze it for an hour and 20 minutes then tap it on a hard surface. Hope this helps!

The science behind:

You picked cold drinks with electrolytes and other impurities in it. These electrolytes lowered the water's freezing point, so it needs more cooling to freeze than regular tap water or distilled water, that's why we use a bottle of tap water as an indicator. Then, when the tap water began freezing, your cold drinks should've been just below their freezing point and needed a nucleation site or a shockwave to spontaneously crystallize (it supercooled). Which you provided by stomping it on a table. Then the water began crystallizing into ice.

I don't exactly know why the drink froze into a slushy instead of a solid block of ice, as with regular supercooled water. One theory I have is that the drink has an uneven concentration or/hence uneven freezing point, so some of it craytallized while some didn't which led to a slushy consistency.

But I've seen other explanations online as well of rapid release of air bubbles after crystallization, which may explain why supercooled soda also has a slushy consistency. It's also possible that the water wasn't cooled enough, so when it froze and released heat (as it does), it warmed some of the surrounding water, this warming effect combined combined with a lower cooling may have been enough to prevent some of it from freezing.

so basically put your bottle of water (it can be unopened, also it’ll still work if you fill it with something all the way and close it up) horizontal in the freezer for 4 hours, and once it’s done, you can drink or drain out the water (or other drink) left, and cut the top of the bottle and put it in a cup or bowl, and get a spoon, and then you’re done!
