How to BELT (How to Find It, How to FEEL It) Know That You're Doing It Right! Avoid Strain.

If you sing, you've wondered if you are belting correctly, or if you even know how to do it. The reality is, that belting has less to do with full-on volume or loudness. A good belt has more to do with how you place your note and how you think about where the note should be vibrating or resonating from. I'll break down how to know you're belting correctly and show you how to FEEL a good, loud, resonant BELT VOICE!

I struggled for years with not being able to get that "fullness" to my voice & I kid you not after trying this out for like 20 minutes I nailed it. You're a legend man & your instructions are top notch, huge thanks.

“Go outside even” sounded fair enough so I gave it a try. I’m not sure whether this is related but all my neighbours ignored me this morning

lol go outside to do the "over there!"'s. The whole neighborhood is gonna be looking over there.

Great tutorial. I have learned over the years from great singers and beginners that the consummate belter has to be confident. You have to be mentally willing to go there. Belting is a place to go to in your voice. Many voice teachers discourage it, because they themselves never learned to do it.

"i finally found my belt!!"
just like that confounded bridge.
This channel rules!

Awesome video! I found my belt this morning in the armchair in my front room. Who the hell is the one person that thumbs down all of your videos? Ken Tamplin???🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the great, easy to follow content!

One of the only channels that actually combines realistic ways to practice with a detailed explanation of how it's supposed to work and feel. :) Thanks!

This technique is 100% correct, it’s great to hear someone actually acknowledging that belt or the ‘calling sound’, can be used efficiently and without causing strain or vocal damage. The key is to not push the sound too much. Let it resonate. Don’t feel like you have to add extra volume…because this sound quality is already loud, even though the singer can’t necessarily hear that. This vocal placement is yelling. It’s a primal sound that we use to get someone’s attention. I find it complicates things when you think you are ‘singing’. It’s a sustained calling quality. However, postural support is essential, as you ascend higher. You need to support your voice using your body. Lift your chest up just a little, so your diaphragm isn’t collapsed and keep a straight alignment from your head/ear, right down throughout your body. You’ll feel your back and abdominal muscles engage to support the weight of the head. If you watch someone suddenly call or yell at someone, you’ll notice how their body naturally lifts itself into that position, to properly support the voice.

Thank you Chris... I'm really improving my vocal skills with your videos, like never before. I've been singing for about 15 years but not with the right techniques. I quited singing because of my job for about 3 years, and I went back to singing on the last year. But trust me, with your tutorials, I'm way better than before, and still learning. Thaks man. Saludos desde Colombia!
