Lefkada - Greek Fishing Village

Lefkada island is a well-known tourism destination both among Greeks and foreign tourists.

The fishing industry is one of the main sources of income for its population. In partnership with iSea, we are working towards preserving, protecting and restoring the fragile marine ecosystem of Lefkada, commencing in early 2021.

In addition we will:
Conduct Beach and underwater clean-ups
Organise local community events promoting the reduction of plastic usage
Engage schools and educate staff and students
Provide innovative approaches to the reuse, upcycling and/or recycling of fishing gear
Improve waste disposal facilities for fishing vessels.
