Hey guys, thanks for the video. I am the Hotsch rep in Ontario and it drives me crazy when I see other dealers do demos like this. First off, a joker needs to run at 9-12 mph to get the ground cut properly. There should be a huge rooster tail off the back rollers leaving a nice soft level instead of seeing the drilled look you referred too. Setting a tractor up to run at only 6.5mph doesn’t do you any good at all. You also need to check the profile cut under the ground to see what the ridges look like for a fair comparison. Just looking at the surface is only one part of the equation.

Really like the way you explained everything.

Those Fendts with front implements are sick

I really liked the conclusions at the end. Those are just a small part of USP for Lemken compared with other manufacturers.
Keep up the good work !

Since I have zero actual farming experience, I like Fendt better just on looks alone. Lemkin looks a lot more user friendly.

Very excellent video, very informative. This will help many make a better decision on which piece of equipment would work best for their operation.

Go look at the Nebraska Tractor tests. It says the John Deere 8370r tests at 365 and the Fendt 939 test at 345. Second the Horsch disk works better with more speed. It does overlap more and they way I understand the wings is that they aren’t suppose to run on float. The pressure gauge on the front of the machine is suppose to have some pressure on them. Horsch also has a disk that has bigger diameter blades. They are just 24” blades. To get a true comparison you would really need to run either a Rubin 9 or 10 or the Helidor against that Joker RX.

I do appreciate the video and found it very informative.

I've been on a 22 ft Lemkin doing fall tillage for a friend of mine for 4 or 5 seasons. At a 5 degree angle it does a beautiful job on cornstalks. He has a single rolling harrow on the back similar to the Horsch. He had a twin basket like yours but it would plug up in wet conditions. Of the high speed disc's in our area the only one that comes close is the new Salford.

As You say, when you have a field with a bigger hight difference, the Lemke is without competition, such a great work horse

Interessting part will be how much fuel you will consum per acre and how fast you wear and tear the discs.

I don't really understand what the dealer was trying to say by giving you this Joker to test... First of all, you are using the biggest disks on your Lemken, and this Horsch to my understanding is equivalent to European Horsch Joker RT (we do not have Joker RX in Europe). They should have given you at least Joker HD with bigger discs... Lemken is also making Helidor with small discs that are more comparable to Joker. Joker is meant for shallow tillage and stubble cultivation after the harvest at least here in Europe when the Lemken Rubin 12 can be also used for deep tillage and preparing seedbeds. Joker will definitely not be able to do soil leveling as I saw you doing with Rubin in your other video because it was not meant for this kind of work. Also, this Horsh requires a much higher speed than Lemken (I think it is like 10-12 mph). Hydraulic depth control from cab is an option for Horsch too and I'm not sure why would you put wings to float I don't think it's correct.

One more point to consider is the true apples to apples comparison would be the Joker HD not the Joker RX. The Joker HD has 24" discs and is designed to run at 8-10" deep just like the Rubin the RX is a 20" disc and desigemd for "high speed" shallow tillage and as Jeremy said above 9-12mph minimum. (High speed disc) True test would be the Lemken Heliodor vs the Joker RX.

Would you guys say you prefer the Rubin disc over the karat cultivator to level it out and get it ready for next years crop? I am from central Alberta and we have not found the right tool yet to level out spud fields as we do not want to leave it too fine as the wind can blow like crazy in spring and blow the soil away. We are thinking the karat might be the best option but we haven’t demoed anything yet

Love the content but shooting in HDR makes the colour profile too warm not good for viewing don't use HDR mode

I don't know I think you look pretty sharp in that tractor on the cart under that big black beast of a combined next year

If we were actually going to compare these two tractors you do an alternating pass across the field with one tractor measuring ground speed, fuel usage, decibels in the cab and comfort....

Then you would swap tractors to use the same Implement and go back across the field with the other tractor comparing all them same specs

When I used to work for John Deere back in the 90s I was so green underwear that when climbing into any other color tractor you're like oh my gosh this thing is so crude and horrible . Now after having a Massey for a few years and spending a couple years with the German tractor as a dealer rep now when I climb in a new John Deere tractor you're like man this thing is crude

when the German tractor came out with their variable transmission you're thinking it was like an old IH hydrostat . Now 30 years later you can see over the decades how John Deere has played copycat catch up

The German tractor far superior engine and transmission, far better warranty, better customer support with the free person a lot of the features they might have similar but you'll notice on the German tractor they're a little more usable. I would say at this point I prefer the German tractor cab over deere

We had tractor uptime statistics and the German wheeled tractors that are built overseas were so far ahead of John Deere and Case IH it wasn't even funny.

If you remove the loose soil and look at the soil profile underneath, you will see the blue one is perfectly even and the red one leaves ridges because it misses areas. The blue one is best.
