The Tone Winner AT-300, Emotiva MC1, and IOTAVX AVX17 are all Tone Winner platforms with 13.1 processing.

I have never understood why sound processors cost so much. I love my anthem avm70 but I still think it’s way over priced. Specially in the UK

Hey guy's got a question - is there an Audio Codec machine that I can put in my yet to be built Theatre System, so that it will upgrade any and all video's to the max 4k ? DB

You can find a DENON 6700 refurbished for around $2K

Supposedly Monoprice is close to having a lot of HTP-1s available again. Phenomenal processor. Use a miniDSP to get to 9.4.6.

It's pronounced IOTA - VX, and they are a British Brand from Middlesbrough, UK..

Sorry for any confusion about the chat comment I had posted, in my haste to type it out, I left out the "of those" part that should have gone after the "and" in "HTP-1 gets you 16 total, and up to five subs."

I knew what I meant 😉 but should have slowed down and typed out the full explanation. Kyle got it right, though, and you guys did a good job of straightening it out.

The HTP-1 is a phenomenal processor for the money, and it would get the job done, if John Smith is willing to add a MiniDSP 2x4 HD to handle his four subs. (That's what I'm doing, BTW.) That won't give him ability to use Dirac Live Multi Sub, but he can use a single sub out to a MiniDSP and buy the Dirac Live Single Sub. Using MSO will likely provide similar results but takes more work by the user.

What do you recommend besides just Marantz

IOTA is supposed to be a great value brand and is generally well received at least the last time I looked into them.

What are those cheaper AVRs really putting out. Hopefully you are not just buying the sticker on the box

Why are all of you guys scared to audition tonewinner?

Why do we let these receiver companies off the hook with how expensive they are just by adding more channels??
They’re obviously skimping on the quality because they’re only giving specs for two channels driven.
I could totally understand justifying it if it were ALL channels driven, but they simply aren’t doing it.
You guys are our mouthpiece. Please start speaking up against it. The processing in these receivers are fairly simple. The led screens aren’t much different than they were in the 80’s. Almost everything on these receivers are cheap.
Look at how inexpensive every other electronic equipment is is after mass production, yet these keep getting more expensive far exceeding inflation.
