The Clone Slasher | Black Creepy Cat Mask Unlock | Halloween Slashers Event | GTA Online

The player might encounter five different Slashers haunting various parts of the map. The Clone Slasher has a 50% chance to appear in any of the existing spawn areas instead of the 4 regular Slashers. The Clone Slasher might carry following weapons: Baseball Bat, Battle Axe, Flashlight, Knife, Knuckle Dusters or Machete. The Clone Slasher is inspired by Us, a 2019 film about a family who are attacked by the menacing Doppelgängers. The design of The Clone Slasher event's promotional image is similar to one of the posters for the aforesaid film. The Clone Slasher will initially only move when the player is moving. The Clone Slasher will become hostile once it gets close enough to its target or if it is attacked. This behaviour is also noted with other slasher types.

The Slashers Event was one of the random events in Grand Theft Auto Online, first introduced during the Los Santos Tuners update during the Halloween 2021 event weeks. The event returned for the fourth week of the Halloween 2022 event with the addition of a new unique killer, the Clone Slasher. During the event, the player might encounter various Slashers: unique bloodthirsty NPCs seemingly coming out of nowhere that will attempt to murder them. There are 5 Slashers, which can only be encountered from 1 AM to 6 AM for Halloween in specific areas if the following conditions are met:
* The session must have been created at least 16 minutes prior.
* The player is either on foot or in a normal vehicle. Aircraft, boats, weaponized vehicles and special vehicles are not allowed.
* The player is inside the Slasher's spawn area.
If the conditions are met, a Slasher will appear near the target player with a unique sound effect. Slashers are armed with various melee weapons and will relentlessly follow their target until they manage to kill it or until they die. Slashers have a massive health pool that allows them to even survive multiple explosions, and they are also immune to ragdolling. The event ends when either the player or the Slasher dies. If the Slasher is unable to reach its target for too long (if the player is swimming for example), if another event is triggered or if the player leaves the area, the Slasher will simply despawn.

Killing your Clone Slasher will complete the Weekly Challenge and land you the Black Creepy Cat Mask and GTA$100,000. For the best chance of encountering these doppelgängers, make sure to enter Freemode at nighttime.
