Thanks again guys. The Islamic dilema is certainly the cleanest argument against Islam, given you only need 3-4 Quranic verses, the Gospel, and simple logic.
If the Gospels are the word of God, then the Quran isn’tIf the Gospels aren’t the word of God, then the Quran isn’t Therefore, the Quran isn’t not the word of God.

My personal problem with Islam stems from Muhammad being ignorant of the Torah, and changing it to suit his own needs. One of the most grievous things Muhammad did was to destroy adoption by marrying the widow of his adopted son, which he claimed was a "divine" revelation.

This is similar to his insisting that he had a right to marry Abu Bakr's daughter based on a dream. Biblical prophets often lived austere lives. Muhammad's life shows an initial desire for spreading monotheism that was gradually overwhelmed by a desire for military conquest and self-aggrandisement, even to the astonishment and disapproval of some of his followers. (I am not condemning military conquest per se).

Another crucial argument stems from the Qur'an's claim that Muhammad is mentioned in the Torah-- even despite Islamic sources saying that Muhammad was an "ummi", or one unlearned in the Scriptures. Since Muhammad is mentioned nowhere in the Torah (as Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon wrote to the Yemenite Jews living under Muslim persecution during the Middle Ages), we must conclude the Qur'an has prophesied falsely, and is therefore false.

I knew David"s answer before he even said it. Not that I'm a mind reader, der, but because the Islamic dilemma is probably the best argument and an insurmountable obstacle to Muslims.

The Quran is supposed to be Allah's direct perfect words and he says he is nothing like his creation. By that definition we can say what Allah is by what Creation is. Example, Creation has a physical form so Allah can't. Yet, he says he is a physical being. That goes against his own definition of being nothing like his creation.

The unfortunate thing is this: Cognitive dissonance and holding on to 'credit' in beliefs is what stops people from listening.

My favorite is an actual guy in Boston who posted signs all over a Muslim neighborhood stating, *"Islam is right about women."* It's brilliant, because if you're against the sign, then you're anti-Islam. If you agree with the sign, then you're pro-Islam, but anti-woman.

The question I ask is this why did Muhamed not make a photocopy of that very tora that they brought to him that time so he could preserve it for us christians and also keep it as evidence for today.
Maybe Allah forgot to tell muhamed to make photocopies.
