Going through my second severe attack in less than a year. Was prescribed Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole for antibiotics, Indomethacin for pain, and Lactulose to help clear me out. This is the absolute worst pain I've ever been in, and I can't stop dry heaving all day. I've been drinking as much water as I can tolerate, and I'm praying I heal soon. I would never wish this on anyone.

I had diverticulitis a few years back. It started with a bloated constipation sort of feeling then had severe abdominal pain and ran a 102F fever. I drove myself to the ER thinking I had appendicitis. The way they found out was to do a CT scan with contrast--having to dye every half hour for 3 hrs. Finally got better with antibiotics. Thankfully mine was acute and went away in a few weeks

Because I live in the USA and so many folks here are scared of lawsuits and ridicule you can't get this straight talk. Thank you for sharing your point of view. It was helpful.

I've had diverticulitis for about 10 years. I stay away from seeds and nuts particularly, in my case they will more than likely or not cause an outbreak.
"Gas"pills dont help, alka seltzer does, cannibis helps the most. Your diet is the key, however, if you have other ailments as I do, some of the recomended foods can cause other problems... you can't ignore it, that's for sure! Years ago, I got Beaver Fever, that was the most similiar feeling or illnes I would compare it to. The pain I experience is far worse than when I had appendicitis! It can be incredibly painful, my last attack (no doc) lasted 8 days of almost constant pain! Those memories inspire you to monitor your diet! LOL LOL Good luck
God bless!

I was diagnosed with diverticulitis 2 years ago, and now I have a good sense of when the next flare-up is imminent. It's almost like I can predict it as soon as I consume something that I know I shouldn't. The symptoms include abdominal pain, accompanied by a mild fever, weakness, and an overall feeling of lethargy. To manage the fever, I take Advil and switch to a liquid diet for a minimum of three days. Thankfully, by the third or fourth day, I usually start to feel better. I've noticed that the key to avoiding such episodes, at least in my case, is to be extremely mindful of my dietary choices.

Having a glass of Metamucil every day has bought my Diverticulitis under control, no pain for the last 3 years and I can eat whatever I want. Have told 3 other people and their pain is gone also.

My best friend was just in the hospital for this and a broken foot. She is undergoing chemo. She had just had her first treatment recently. She had to go into the hospital and that’s when this disease became known to me. Cause she was in a lot of pain. It reminded me of a woman having contractions. Cause they would come and go. But the pain she was in. I thought it sounded similar to IBS. Which is something I use to have. And it was painful. I have clarity now. Excellent video. Thank you.

I’ve been diagnosed with this - my main symptom is slight blood loss in the colon. The blood loss can make me tired & I occasionally feel a bit sick but that is it at this stage for me. Thanks for uploading this video and everyone’s comments to support each other and share information. Being careful re: eating is key.

I just got diagnosed with this. Just had an attack Friday, lasted 18 hours. Brutal, brutal pain...ab pain, projectile vomiting...horrible pain. Once it passed I slept for 24 hours solid. Wouldn't wish this on anyone. If I'd been able to walk I'd have found something to end it all with. Brutal, brutal pain. I'll never eat again. Broth till I die.

This video gave me a lot of peace of mind, the way it's explained lowered my anxiety about being diagnosed with diverticulitis. (32, got pains on the right side, not asian, guess I'm just that special). But in my case doctors prescribed me antibiotics and a fluid diet for 24 hours, then said I'd be ok to eat low fiber/no fat meals

Wish I had this info two years ago, before I found myself in a hospital. Third day in perforated and was off to the OR with great haste.
Today I may be missing some colon, but I’m still rolling.

I was diagnosed with it after my colonoscopy on Wednesday. I'm 35 I have a follow-up on my doctor in 2 weeks maybe they'll give me some antibiotics or explain to me how to manage it. I thought I had stomach cancer or an ulcer and even bad heartburn when I'm glad my colonoscope doing well though and I hope I can get through this Diverticulitis

Would diverticulitis affect bladder functioning and urine frequency? Even cause UTI?
