Okay, here is my interpretation of this video and the reason why we find it so inspirational. I think most people have the same interpretation, but it is helpful to put it into words:

In the olden times, throughout most of human history which were ages of scarcity. This meant scare resources, and philosophy as we know it has not come about yet and this meant struggles, including wars, conquests and revolutions, as you can see depicted in the video. In these tumultuous times, men were taking up arms, risking their own lives, to do what is necessary or responsible, to do what is right. They might be protecting their nation, their family or overthrowing corrupt regimes, giving rise to modern values.

This was the case for most of human history, hence the background music "time goes by so slowly." Through such struggles, the "Western men" built the foundation upon which the modern world is built.

Now the age of abundance is upon us and the traditional values are threatened. Everyone can now easily over-indulge in any kind of vice. Modern philosophy protects the weak and the lazy while asking for little responsibility from them. Stimulus and comfort is more accessible than ever before and survival does not require one to be driven.

In this new world, every "Western man" is given a choice: give in to such modern comforts and become a useless slave of comfort without any responsibility, or reject them and take up the traditional values, the values that helped build the modern world in the first place. This is not an easy thing. It will be uncomfortable to try to build a strong body, for example. It will require one to go against instincts, not unlike covering one's own body with ice and snow and going running in the cold. However, rejecting comfort and embracing responsibility, a man will be given a purpose, contribute to society and be able to achieve greatness. This could mean great scientific, artistic and philosophical advancements, new discoveries, peak human physique or something more humble as a happy life with a beautiful, loving spouse and many friends.

This video specifically addresses Western men (European men, to be more specific), but this message applies to men in any developed country around the world, the men who now occupy the countries that were built by ambitious and driven men of the past but are now living in the age of abundance and tempted by the choice of comfort.

Will you submit to comfort and give up? Or will you pick yourself up and take up the mantle?

Thank you very much for this one, I might watch it for the rest of my life, I don t get enough of it, it feels special. The visuals you use have never matched any of the clips you made as well as in this one imo. It's just perfect. I ve been seeing on discord for years, im glad you uploaded it bro. If you ever did an extended version, id gladly play it in loop.

And i never thought Id say that but due to the use of clips that arent in 16:9 format, I prefer watching this video in a square format.
