If you're traveling outside of the US then don't rely on American Express. It's not commonly accepted in Europe. Personally I always make sure I have at least two cards; one based on Mastercard and one based on Visa.

Great video. We have a United miles card. We have been able to use a lot of miles to travel. But, I’ve been hearing cards that give cash back, might be even better? But, also, I’m wondering if we got a new chase card, would our United miles still be there for us to use? Thanks!

Hi Nick & Allie! My husband and I recently got the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, because we nearly always rent cars to explore when we are traveling overseas. However, I noticed in the fine print that the Chase rental car coverage doesn't cover any liability coverage should you injure someone else or damage other people's property. Since we have to decline coverage at rental car counter, in order to utilize our Chase rental car coverage, what do you suggest as far as covering yourself in the liability area? Thanks, in advance, for your advice!

Thank you for this subject, ”credit cards for traveling” . My wife and I are 67 years old and want to travel more! We are on a fixed income and I’ve used Carnival and Princess cards to help us cruise 2 different trips. We cruised to Hawaii and to the Panama Canal. Do you have any advice what would be another card we could use to travel more using rewards & points. We looking to cruise to the Caribbean in 2025?
Thanks for your advice!!!

Hi, watching from Canada. I don’t understand why you would get so many credit cards except for the joining bonuses. As best to have all points in one reward pot.

I have 3 credit cards and I’ve never had any problems in Europe. I also carry cash in case there’s an issue at the store.

I have a Chase preferred that I was planning on canceling knowing that it may hurt my score because I just opened a United Explorer card which is more useful to me, after watching the video I’ll be downgrading the card instead of canceling. Thank you for the tip. Definitely following this page for more useful tips.

Thanks for video. Traveling to NZ in April. We have Chase Sapphire Preferred, one card - wife is authorized user. Can we drop her from my card and she open her own and get the sign up bonus points? We don’t exceed the 5/24 rule. Thanks in advance.

I see no one talking about the capitol one venture one card. I guess it’s not as good as it seems to me.

I’m brand new at travel rewards cards. I’m interested in that free consult because I’ve got a trip to Japan in Spring 2025 and I’m really wanting to minimize the out of pocket for those flights. How do I get that consult?

Why would Allie get an AMEX? Aren't you missing out on Chase Sapphire points when it's used? In other words, how do you choose which card to use when making any specific purchase.

How long did it take you to accumulate 1.7MM Points? Months or years?
