How to Find Your PC's Bottleneck

EDIT: Install RTSS instead of MSI Afterburner, RTSS doesn't come with Afterburner anymore!
In this tutorial I show you guys an easy way to find your pc's bottleneck. This method will help you isolate the component that should be upgraded on your system. I use HWiNFO64 and MSI Afterburner. Basically we are going to display important PC info in games to see what components are lacking the power to get the job done.

I have a much simpler way and I think better way to test for bottlenecks. Get a fps counter like fraps, measure your fps in the game you want to test (1 game might bottleneck your gpu while another might bottleneck the cpu, on the exact same setup. Now measure the fps again changing only the resolution, if fps stays the same while turning the resolution up and down, you have a cpu bottleneck. If you get a performance increase from lowering the resolution, your gpu is the weak link in your setup. A perfectly balanced sytem would get no gain from turning resolution down while guetting a drop from turning resolution up.

As for memory, it is highly unlikely that it will be a significant bottleneck with 4 gigs or more, as long as it is not running in single channel.

How do I know which number is which component? I have a quad processor and it displays 7 numbers at the top of the screen.

I have no "bundle" folder, as mentioned in 1:43, what do I do? When I installed all this that window with preferences (RTSS) actually showed, but now later, that I want to tweak it a little, I cannot "get it up" (pun intended) on my screen.

Hey there, I have a ZOTAC GTX 780 3GB DDR5 GPU with an AMD-FX8350 8 core CPU (4.0Ghz) - would this cause any sort of bottleneck?

OK so im bench marking Rainbow Six Siege on ultra and my GPU is at 90-100 and my CPU is at 70-80, I lowered the settings to medium just for a test and yet my GPU was at 90-100 and CPU 90 -100 i then tried Low settings and they were just the same as the medium settings.

What is the Bottleneck?... much appreciated.

Ok have followed all your instructions on this BUT if I try to start a game to see whats happening ie BF4 the game refuses to run just get error message saying the game stopped working etc.  If I try to start WOW all I get is a black screen.  Any suggestions as to what is going wrong?

Why "3d3" usage and not the other options? What info does that particularly yield that the others dont?
