This course was hard. What course do you want next?

I’m 76 years old now. Back on Sept. 10, 1974, when I was 26, I aced #17. It is the only ace I have ever made. The pin was on the right side of the green, so I actually was able to see the ball go into the hole. The scorecard is taped to a mirror in my bedroom.

What I like most; he hits a perfect hybrid to the green and the camerama man asks "What's it like to be able to do that?" Rephy' "It's wieerd man, doesn't happen all the time" all with that huge happy smile pure joy. Yep, that's a real champion who is rare as hen;s teeth. Thanks for this video made my day and I sure needed it today. Merry Christmas to all of you and yours.

Been playing there since 1980. So I was fortunate enough to see all the changes. On 15, as a 12 HDCP who no longer hits the ball far, it’s drive, punch to inside 100 then find the green with the 3rd and hope to 1 or even 2 putt

Totally agree with the comment about walking the course. Always found that you get more of a sense of the next shot when walking especially when approaching the green.

By far the most likeable golfer on YouTube. And obviously one of the best. What I’d give for that swing!

Makes a golf video so much more fun when you have experience on the course. I’ve played here several times, it’s in my area and I love the love that it is getting. It really is such an amazing course.

I live on Long Island and have played this course at least 50 times as a scratch golfer. Making that walk back across the street to 15 in nerve recking. Last 4 holes are brutal. My coolest moment in golf is making a 2 on 18 and a bartender coming down with 4 beers there.

Outstanding play Grant! Enjoyed watching and seeing that beast of a golf course.

Bethpage is my home course. Loved watching it through your perspective. The Red is also a great course -- it's got a better opener (it's on the left hand side of the shot at 0:26) and finisher than the Black, and its par 4s are extremely engaging.

One note: the Black plays as a par 71 (only one par 5 on the back), so your +3 is actually a 74 here.

Hits shot out of bunker into ruff and ball disappears but when he goes to hit the next shot the balls sitting on top of the ruff like it’s one a tee lol thank god for editing

That was one of your best videos yet. 18 holes in 30 minutes. No bs and played great. Hold your head high. Well done !

Outstanding shipmates. Press on. USS Kitty Hawk CV-63. Jan 1980 to July 1983. Never played golf and never will, but love to watch you guys battle it out.

I played this when it was $8 a round in the 70's and there was no waiting line. It was beat up but the layout was so amazing I kept saying "why aren't they playing tournaments here?' One could see it. (Then of course they did) My best round was 83. I really wanted to break 80 but couldn't. Played it about 30 times. I parred 15 once sinking pretty much the putt you had here. The green is real tilted.

I parred every hole there at least once but 5. At the time it played 393 (persimmon woods) from the front of a 60 yard tee box. You had to carry a sea of traps about 210 just to get it into a very narrow tree lined fairway that then went uphill to a small green. Could never par that sucker.

One day I went to one of the easier courses (they have 5 there.) Shot 75. All drives and 8-9-wedges in. Too easy. Black is such a beast.

Great video! Played the black well before restoration and it was much more difficult. The greens were very hard, had to land well short of pin, especially #7. Rough was taller, easy to lose ball just off fairway. What a fantastic design, perfection, so challenging. Had to walk, old school 9 holes out, 9 back in. No carts and difficulty meant not busy during the week. It cost about $10, and that meant for the day! So I'd get second round for free. What a gem, tremendous memories. First round i shot 81, called my dad at wk, he said he'd be right over. Shot 85, big memory was birdied #17 twice!

I really appreciate the work you do. Great fun watching your videos your kindness and optimism on full display. You are a credit to your parents! You commented that you enjoyed walking down that path. If you’re not aware, that is called the Hogan path in honor of Ben Hogan, who wanted the path cut so that the cuffs of his pants wouldn’t get dirty and grassy and wet! Common on courses outside of the South! Keep up the great work Grant!
