Testing the Best Tesla Model 3 Wheel Covers

We did some testing with the 18" Tesla Model 3 wheels to see if an aftermarket wheel could be as good as the OEM cover in terms of efficiency. The Aroham wheel cover looks amazing but for this test we wanted to see what the functionality was.

I ordered the performance looking wheel caps after BTG posted a video. I took my first long trip with them and my efficiency sucked major balls when compared to stock aero v2 wheels. For long trips I may swap out.

Getting technical, if the pattern is not opposite from left to right, they are not the most efficient. Pattern must be directional. Not cut into wind but allow it to flow over them.

I remember I bought a set of "car and driver" brand wheel cover for $20 at Target for my old Corolla but these Aroham at $397 I thought I read it wrong...

These are wheel covers, not hub caps. Hub caps are the small pieces that cover the hubs. That said, they look pretty good. I actually don't mind my stock wheel covers.

Not for $400. There are plenty of similar hub caps in the $200 price range. Are these worth an extra $200? Thx

I had these exact ones from the same company. Drove with them for about 1, 000 miles. I took them off by chance to wash but noticed scratches on the spokes where the wheel covers latches on. The scratches were in the same spots on all four of my wheels.

There’s a cushion tape that is supposed to go along the inside edge of the cover but not where it latches. I’ve put on and taken off the stock aero covers several times and they never created scratches. Not sure if you had issues, maybe it’s just mine.

Now I’m getting my wheels repaired. I’ve contacted the company but said they will not cover the shipping cost back to China and the representative recommended that I sell them 🙄

I'm baffled that no one mentioned the "Tesla Hub" with the ever-so familiar jingle! When I heard the jingle, I almost instinctively looked around and wanted to make sure the door was locked!!! Very subtle but very funny!!!

Unfortunately they don’t make the caps for the model y look as good as the model 3s. Sad, I would buy them for the 19s

It's not 1.05 percent more efficient. 1.05 percent is nothing. It's a factor of 1.05 more efficient OR just 5 percent more efficient.
