Ok Grasshopper, this song comes with a lot of context and a history lesson. First, the name of the band has significance. GAP is an acronym for Greenwood, Archer and Pine. These are street names in the Greenwood section of Tulsa, OK, otherwise known as Black Wall Street. The same that was the location of the Tulsa Massacre of May 31 - June 1st of 1921.

The hook and song title is significant too. During this massacre, which law enforcement also participated in, is where the local authorities gave carte blanche to whites to hunt down and kill any black people with impunity. They were actually deputized to do it to give them legal cover of sorts.

The frequent video of fighter planes firing rockets and dropping bombs is also historically significant. This massacre was the first time that an American town was bombed from the air.

Now, they obviously changed some lyrics to hide the true political and social commentary that it carries. But I dare say that you'll never hear it the same way again.

Aaron Hall probably looked at Uncle Charlie and said, I wanna be like you. Lol. Unique voice. He sessioned for Stevie's Hotter Than July album.

G. reenwood A. rcher & P. ine (GAP Band) neighborhoods of Tulsa Oklahoma. The songs title is a "double entendre." Yes, a woman or man can turn you out and on in a tumultuous relationship, but so did White folks of Tulsa to that of the Black folk of Black Wall Street. They literally used planes during the Tulsa Massacre to drop incendiary devices (bombs) as part of their deadly wicked attack / destruction of Black Wall Street and its Black inhabitants...
