Yes that is The same Uncle Charlie Wilson, him and his two brothers were The Gap Band with a string of legendary hits from the 70’s to the 80’s, he still does a lot of Gap Band songs live in concert now. They name the band after 3 streets in their hometown of Tulsa Oklahoma - Greenwood, Archer and Pine, all, us old schoolers would sometimes call them “ the boys from Greenwood, Archer and Pine!” The funk was real in the 70’s and 80’s and Charlie Wilson and his brothers brought it! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I've said it a million times...I'm so thankful to have grown up in the 70s/80s. We had the best music of all genres. Charlie Wilson was the lead vocalist of Gap Band! We took good music for granted, thought it was normal and it would just continue forever. The music today can't touch the 60s/70s/80s. Mid-90s is when music went downhill for me.

I saw The Gap Band in the late 90's at The House Of Blues in West Hollywood, CA. They kicked ass. These dude's flat out rule.

All about the funk. The best thing about this era is all the famous Rnb, rock, country, jazz, and all other joundras of music hung out together and shared their musical ideas. Imagine some of the jam sessions we don’t know about. ❤️❤️.
