Renault's Scenic recipe has been under the microscope for a couple of generations now, but in the move to electric, it's also picked up a far cooler SUV body. Richard Ingram finds out whether Renault's next big bet has paid off, and whether this is actually a family car you'd now WANT to buy, rather than just need to buy...

What a Brilliant presenter this guy is. Such a clear, well spoken person, with no up & downs in his voice, as so many presenters do. No over acting, just talking to us, it makes watching a review so much more enjoyable. 110/10

I really wish the Scenic name had been used for something more MPV like, given its iconic history and thye had used a new name for this SUV. Renault should have given us a better rival/alternative for the ID Buzz rather than the mass (literally) of SUV mainstream. It seems like a loss of opportunity and identity to me, as much as it is a good product.

My wife and me sat in the car today for the first time. That "cocooned" feel is exactlx one of those things we both didn`t like - for us, it felt more like in a sort of a tank, like "walled up". We love our 17 year old Ford C-Max (next to a lot of other aspects) for its low window line. It makes the sense of space so airy.
The solar bay roof is pretty pointless to us (we would prefer a PV module), as well as the electric hatch, considering the fact that after opening it electrically, you are invited to lift your luggage to the first floor. For the prize, we would have expected at least vehicle-to-home-readiness as standard. The way it is, there`s not much of an "innovative car" as the acronyme "SCENIC" suggests. But that`s it with complaining. The car has a halfway compact size, impressive space and legroom on all seats, and even if you can`t remove the rear seats, there`s plenty of room to load even pretty bulky furniture, in case of a relocation or when you come out of IKEA. This car beats a lot of much bigger vehicles.
We definitely could live with that one. Maybe in a year or two.
Until then, Renault should go on developing this car:
=> a PV module alternatively to the solar bay
=> the electric hatch should not be standard. Put it on the surcharge list
=> a lower loading sill
=> removable backseats
=> vehicle-to-home

Wish you had shown the front seats in full as for me it's important.

Did seem like there was too much road noise? May have been the mics. Frunk? Disappointing no 1 pedal drive. Will wait and see if it does appear OTA like he said, or whether it will be a mid cycle facelift type addition. A solid offering though.

The only thing missing here are 7 seats and its a missed opportunity, since 7 seater EVs are still rare and all crazy expensive.

Not one word about the boot, wow hasn't been reporting a car features changed. How much are tyres? Does it have a spare? I am guessing some of the comments on here are paid for😂

There is only 1 benckmark to beat!
If its able to beat the Tesla model Y
On charging, consumption, compfort, ... it can be a winner.

Its beats it o range but has 87kW vs 72kw for a Tesla.
