I kept clouded archers for a bit, fully freshwater, with rainbows, empire gudgeons, panda garras, two spot catfish, some siamese algae eaters, and Dennison's barbs. They never ever bothered any other fish, even the smallest of the panda garras, and they were easy to feed floating pellets. I will say that rainbows aren't the best companion for them, not because of aggression or stress, but because the archers will eat larger pellets that the rainbows can choke and die from. Ask me how I know...

Yahoo! A Wet Spot video!! Chelsea, I like so many of the same fish you do 😁 I love Leporinus! I have never kept them as I can't provide the footprint I think they need. My largest tank is a 75 gal. We don't energy need to talk about how much I loved the Puffers that were shown 😍

@8:10
I kept a pair of Archers for a stretch. One died, and the other one became very skittish once it was alone. Water changes were extremely stressful on it, as it would jump, flail and run into the side of the tank!
I eventually had to rehome it to a place with others of its own kind.
I recommend groups, as this offers much comfort to individual fish.

Against multiple sources of advice, I've got both the ghost knife and the fire eel, and both are housed in a 4ft x 2ft (different tanks) footprint. I know they get big, but neither species really swims around much, so I'm not guilt ridden over not giving them a 6ft or more footprint. If I need to upgrade later, I'll adjust as necessary.

Snuffers was a fire eel (Mastacembelus erythrotaenia), and was one of the favorite parts of my job when I was there. He was pretty blind towards the end, so we just made sure to feed him his cocktail shramps in the same spot so he could find them. What a sweet little puppyfish.

What would be the tank size if you wanted to keep a BGK till it hopefully reached full size? I know they normally dont make it to be that large and can live in a 125 for years, but what would a 20+ inch one need?
