Fun time's! I remember when I narrowed mine from 38 to 30 inch rows, I cut the axle so I could get the rows narrowed up enough! 7000's are still one of the best planters.

A lot of people are starting to use corn planters for planting canola now... something about using different discs?

I love your theory with the dust on the combine not letting the paint fad lol. At our farm we run the tires on every piece of equipment until they wear out completely or blow up.

4 years late here, but were the wheels too close to the rows when you were planting? It looks like you cannot move the wheels on the planter

Hope to be able to post a video on repairing a 1750 4 row vacuum planter that was hit from behind on the hiway..Bent the tongue and destroyed two row units....Swapped a almost new Bushhog rotary mower for it.

When I work on these I put a piece of plywood on the ground under the row units I am working on and lower planter to just touch the ground. Row units handle much better.
