According to the yesterday's press release there will be NO driver display or gauge cluster, but everything is centered on one 12, 3" center screen. This is very interesting. Earlier it was said that driver´s display helps the driver focus on the traffic, because one does not have to look at the centre of the dashboard when driving. Moreover, there will be NO speakers on the door panels. One big sounder underneath the front window on the dashboard does the job. Quite revolutionary and minimalistic features. One can't help wondering if this has to do with saving the manufacturing costs...

In Finland the base prices are said to start with 3. According to importer, said my car dealer. I am really considering EX30. I am now driving 2021 V60 B3.

I wish somebody would make such a small SUV for the US market, and with range closer to 300 mi. EPA. Just squeeze a few more battery cells into it. VW ID.3 has, but they won't export to US.

Hey Kris, I spoke to my dealer and he told me the V216 now known as the EX30 will start at €37.995, - in the Netherlands. First cars will be delivered at september this year.

If the US price is $40k, will buy it instead of id.4 since we only get crappy crossovers and no decent hatchback/sedan evs that are affordable here.

As a present owner of a XC70, very satisfied with the quality and comfort, I am looking for a smaller Volvo. Living in Spain, streets and parking spots are very small. The XC40 would work but I prefer the smaller EX30 if it would give me the same level of comfort. Small premium electric cars are still lacking on the market. I am looking forward to the results if the test drives.

We've owned smaller Volvo models for over 40 years. We're on our 4th S & V40, but as Volvo have now chosen to make only SUV's, and are concentrating on expensive EV's, sadly we'll have to move to another type of car. How do Volvo expect to attract younger drivers, who have a limited budget or only want to buy a small car? Not everyone wants to drive an SUV.

As a volvo C30 owner who intends to upgrade to EV, I am very disappointed. Since they are all derivatives of Geely's SEA platform, why don't I buy the better-looking Smart #3 or the more luxurious Zeekr X? Both of these are cheaper than the EX30, btw.

Just picked up a C40, EX30 doesn't appeal to me from the teasers, and the software is likely going to be somewhat buggy at the start. Maybe EX30-60 will be more attractive in a couple years when it is time to change again.

For pitys sake, please ask the Volvo hierarchy precisely when we will get a fully electric V90 equivalent. An estate/wagon. I'm not interested in SUVs.

If it looks better than a model 3/ Y, I'd be willing to sacrifice the charging network and buy a Volvo. I like the looks of the XC40 vs. the model Y, but I do think it's a little bit insane you'd be paying considerably more $$ for a car with less performance and range. It's a fact that EV specs and performance are going to influence the price, a Volvo can't just price itself higher than a Tesla because it's a Volvo and expect that it's norm as an internal combustion vehicle maker will continue - so it really has no choice to try to compete with Tesla on a price per Value/ performance/ range measurement. That being said, I'm one of those people that would rather pay $5k more for a Volvo with nice unique cloth seats and an upright seating position vs. a model Y (as I respect Tesla as the best EV maker, but I'm not drawn to want to own one personally because it doesn't fit my style and I'm not in love with the Tesla Brand). In summary, there are lots of people like me who would rather drive the XC40 than a model Y, but Volvo has to be competitive on a cost per vehicle value and performance measure - it's not a choice, compete or go out of business.
