Like, even if they are legal age (apparently 16 in the UK despite only being a legal adult at 18), if you have to think about it and ask because you're afraid of the legality of you're potential relationship — you should not be in this relationship.

So many of the relationships and romantic themes in the books are messed up.
There's age gap romances being shown as normal, Ron gets roofied by Romilda Vane and noone gives a damn, young marriages are the norm and SO many people marry their childhood sweetheart.

I think it says a lot about JKs critical thinking skills and her lack of responsibility to her readers really. I mean, she knows that marrying young was a bad move on her part, but thats still what she modelled as normal to millions of kids.

Fleur actually put up with all that crap woth a lot of dignity and grace. She has my eternal respect for telling Mrs. Weasley that sje wouldn't leave Bill over the scars he got from Greyback. I will maintain that her most iconic moment in the series is her saying "I am beautiful enough for the both of us."

For real though, in GoF, hermione is so critical of the bobaton girls and gets annoyed at fleur so easily even tho she’s the one always talking about international wizard relations and comradery. Meanwhile, fleur didn’t even know who this girl was until half blood prince, never talked shit about her or anything for hermione to hate her so much from the get go

I was thinking about this the other day. I've been listening to the HP books (for like the 10th time) and I just finished Goblet of Fire last week. I'm assuming Fleur was around 17/18 years old during the tournament which made Bill 24/25 years old.😳 Also, Viktor was 17/18 years old and Hermione was 13/14 years old😬...those age gaps were definitely gapping back then lol.

T H A N K Y O Im always so mad that everyone is so mad about her dating Bill, (age gap is wild i never realized oops), but she was spectacular in the tournament and outside of it. She performed REALLY well, and was SUCH a good sport about losing anyways! And remember she HARBORED NATIONAL CRIMINALS WITHOUT BATTING AN EYE, AND PUT UP WITH GRIPHOOKS CRAP, AND NEVER COMPLAINED. I've never understood the Fleur (phlegm) hate, really confused me in the books.
In the real world I would absolutely side eye the age gap between some if the couples. But the portrayals of the relationships never made me question Fleur/Bill Hermoine/Viktor, or Tonks/Lupin.
