'Language Hacking': The Cold Truth

A polyglot's thoughts on "language hacking". Note that I have nothing "against" language hacking and finding efficient ways and great tools for language leaning. However, I like questioning the motivation behind the search for such things!

It's so true, I have been learning English for one year and the secret to learn in your language target it's work, effort, big motivation and love. No pain no gain. I'm trying to speak fluent in English, German and the nivel B2 in Spanish by myself. I work 3 hours each day and more at the week end (course online, reading practice, watching youtube ...) I agree 100% with you . People tends to try learning a foreign languages but they doesn't even want to put effort to acquire their own goals. As you said "some people, but not all people" search for the most efficient and fast way to learn or to acquire a good level in their target languages but when they notice that it takes time and it requires a lot of motivation, effort, and passion, they give up quickly and never return to study. And unfortunately that's the cold truth in language hacking. I'm sorry for any mistake buddy, I'm just learning english for a year, but I can understand everything you said.

I think that this video really needed to be said!!! J'apprends le français jour et nuit, j'aime trop la langue, et la culture. J'ai commence il y a presque 3 ans, au debut de lycée... la premiere année je n'ai pas voulu apprendre, mais mon prof dans ma deuxième année était très inspirant, et depuis 2 années j'ai fait mes études plus fortement. Maintenant je me sens bien dans la langue et je veux apprendre plus de langues. Merci pour vos vidéos, je les aime! Bisous!

Hola, me llamo kian, tengo 16 años y llevo un poco menos de 2 con el español, y por mi experencia le digo que siento que es imposible alcanzar un nivel, como usted, en el español. Siento que a mi edad, aprenderlo a la perfeccion, como el de un hablante nativo no se puede. Y cuando vi su otro video en el que habló en mas de 25 idiomas (creo) no me lo pude creer. Habla ingles (mi idioma nativo) mejor que yo ademas del español. Como lo hizo? Siento que el español se habla al reves y no puedo expresarme tanto como en ingles, lastima porque yo realmente quiero ser por lo menos bilingüe de verdad. Algunos consejos que me puede dar? Es que a veces sueno como un robot y LO ODIO! Saludos desde inglaterra y lo respeto por haber aprendido tantos idiomas.
