Ringo Starr ~ Oh My My 1973 Disco Purrfection Version

Показать описание
Digging around for those ol' 70's boogie woogie tunes like this one that get me out of my chair and push it back cos "Oh My My" I can boogie, I can slide it's guaranteed to keep me alive. I need lots of room to move when I put this one on!
I loved each Beatle equally, they were so awesome while they were together! After they broke up Wings picked up a fan in me, John Lennon did too as did George Harrison. Ringo, for some reason feels a little closer to my heart because of his music. The guy with the puppy dog eyes who could pull off "Yellow Submarine" and turn a kids rhyme into a rock classic was the one to watch out for.
Ringo's birth name is Richard Starkey and he was born July 7, 1940. He joined the Beatles in 1962 and they broke up in 1970. He was already getting other stars to help him on his albums, and for "Oh My My" he had Martha Reeves and Merry Clayton on background vocals, Billy Preston on keyboards and Tom Scott on sax. Starr and Jim Keltner play drums, while Klaus Voormann plays bass. The drum pattern resembles the Beatles "Get Back", but the Billy Preston keyboards really help make this one great! Producer Richard Perry really had a handle on Starr's vision.
Right out of the gate, Ringo started racking up the hits, "It Don't Come Easy" (#4, 1971), "Back Off Boogaloo" (#9, 1972), then a pair of #1's "Photograph" and "You're Sixteen" (both from 1973) then was followed up with the rousing "Oh My My" which peaked at #5 in 1974. He continued on with "Only You" (#6, 1974) and then "No, No Song" (#3, 1975).
The hits tapered off after that, his last Top 40 hit was in 1981 with "Wrack My Brain". He had started a new career as an actor, and with the smoking hot Barbara Bach or Lady Starkey, became his wife in 1981 the same year they starred in a movie together called "Caveman", "200 Motels" with Frank Zappa and played the Pope in Ken Russel's 1975 flick "Lisztomania" and as voice actor for "The Point". He made a lot of musical friends and in 1989 put together Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band that still tours and records to this day!
