It happened! SpaceX just revealed Starship's first payload to orbit...
SpaceX's Starship is preparing to enter its third test flight, promising many new milestones in its evolutionary journey and bringing it closer to its goal of being fully operational.
When the giant rocket is ready, we will have the opportunity to witness its great capabilities demonstrated in missions under signed commercial contracts.
The first of them is the contract to launch the Superbird-9 geostationary orbit communications satellite signed on August 19, 2022.
What's interesting is that the person willing to pay this time is Japan's Sky Perfect JSAT corporation, considered a tycoon in the field of multi-channel satellite information and pay television in Asia.
So, when will it happen?
How special is it?
Discuss everything about this in today's episode of Tech Map.
But before we begin, our team extends a warm welcome!

The different iterations of Starship are mind-blowing. If SpaceX can develop half of the different models that have been proposed mankind will leap into space exponentially faster than before. The ability to clean up space debris will be an amazing industry to watch develop. A Starship space station can become something we aren't even able to imagine right now. The future is bright with Starship if only the bureaucracy will get out of the way.

Man… then we find out space isn’t really what we’ve been told it is.

Commercialization of the SpacX's starships will boost the project. Remember how computer and mobile techs were boosted by commercialization of the industries!

They need to finish HLS and several tankers to get the Artemis program out of the way.. but hopefully they can be clever and launch some satellites while doing so

Would very much like to see a parallel Lunar operation having the mission of rough landing useful tools and textiles that don't require a gentle touchdown to be successful. Pretty sure a roll of duct tape, and some self tapping sheet metal screws, and a recent favorite of mine: bamboo, and tie wire and rope and string could survive a pretty rough low cost landing.

“after the success of IF2”
Talk about a low bar, does taking it to the next level mean both rockets not exploding?

Yeah, we'll all just imagine delivering a payload to orbit without auto destruction. Lol fakery...
