Since I first started reading comics, I've loved Doctor Strange, and it's always been mystifying to me why he is so unpopular. Hopefully the movie will give him a chance to get more attention.

The Secret Defenders was how I first got into comics and was one of my favorite series. After my comics got stolen when I was younger The Secret Defenders was the first series I replaced.

I always had a soft spot for the Defenders. I didn't realize it at the time, but this comic book series represented the last of what the Marvel spirit was originally about.
It also was the Only title that gave the Valykrie her proper due. This was a badass character that should have been developed by Marvel to take her place as a major female superhero, but instead, half of her storylines seemed to be about her getting bound, tortured, humiliated, etc, by male writers. It made me wonder about their attitude towards female heroes, just as DC writers seemed to despise Batgirl. No issues with women there.

Marvel died a long, slow, soulless death after that period. None of that spirit survives today. I stopped reading Marvel at the right time.

Man, you did a great job managing to go over a team with a 40+ year history in under 20 minutes...very good stuff. I've ALWAYS been a Defenders fan (one of my first comics as a kid was an issue of the Defenders/Avengers war). For me, the Defenders worked best around the 80-110 mark of the first series. It was full of supernatural enemies and took on a pretty dark tone with the sacrafice of Nighthawk. I think the Netflix Defenders will be good for the characters in it. Over all, I think Defenders needs to either be about dark supernatural events OR a street level team with street level characters...there is no middle ground, otherwise it would be the same as EVERY other Marvel super hero team. Just my 2 cents. Thanks again and keep the vids coming.

We really need a Doctor Strange crossover with Defenders or at the very least Iron Fist. Just imagine the Defenders and Doctor Strange together in The Defenders or Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, and Scarlett Witch together in Doctor Strange 2 or 3. I could also imagine the Defenders appearing in Infinity War Part 1 or 2, or Spiderman 2 or 3.

Rob, I absolutely love your videos! I think Misty Knight would make a great video. She'll be in the Luke Cage series, and personally I've never known much about her. I've known about her since I was a kid, but she's never been in any comics that I've read. She doesn't seem to be talked about much, yet from afar seems like she'd be an awesome character.

While not the same members, actually the concept of the original Defenders comic and the upcoming Netflix series is the same, introduce a team that will essentially be like the Avengers but in a smaller scale
(Plus having Hulk and Doctor Strange in a TV show, that can't be done, specially with the famous, probably high paid actors they have for both characters in the MCU)
And on a side note: If you're not excited to see Daredevil, Jessica Jones (Who I admit, didn't knew at all before the show, but now I do and read her Alias comics) and the heroes for hire themselves, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, working together in live-action, I question your status as a marvel fan :P (Just joking btw, before anyone gets "triggered")
