Selenite - The Crystal of Purity

Selenite gets its name from the moon goddess Selene who was honoured for her radiant beauty and harmonious nature. Selenite too has a peaceful, loving feel. Selenite forms as long sword-like crystals and could be called nature’s fibre optics, for as you tilt the crystal back and forth white light glides along it. Metaphysically this translates to selenite bringing light to any individual or situation, cleansing body, mind, soul and space.

I'm a waitress, I walked by a table and noticed a woman wearing an odd handmade necklace. I stopped and asked her what kind of crystal she was wearing? She told me so I went in the back and looked it up. I'm a moon child so I was irritated that I was not already aware of this stone. I decided I had to have one and went back to work. A short while later the woman found me in the restaurant and placed a beautiful piece of selenite in my hand. I hugged her and was so thankful for that gift. She smiled and said you're welcome, we parted ways. Never met her b4 in my life. What a perfect thoughtful gift.

I want to share an experience I had with Selenite. I have been enamored with the crystal since I first saw it and now own several pieces of different shapes, but my first piece, a palm stone, holds my heart the most.
I work with children with special needs. I had one student who was born with half of a brain, and I had never seen her cross the midline of her body (meaning her right hand works on the right side and her left hand works on the left). She would bring her hands to the center, but never cross. I was in the habit of carrying my Selenite palm stone in my pocket, and one morning, she was a bit agitated so I took out the crystal and stroked her palm with it. It did the job nicely. But then, much to my surprise (and incredible joy), she grabbed the stone, reached across her body, and started stroking her other hand with it, in the same manner as I had. I could not believe my eyes. She did the same thing on other occasions as well. It is this experience that I think of any time I see (or hear of) Selenite.

I have a selenite lamp that was the best purchase I ever made. Changes my whole demeanor the minute I walk in the room. Really helps wipe off other people's "stuff" and helps my room stay my sanctuary.

I'm new to crystal healing and recently bought a selenite tower for my living room, surrounding a bunch of other crystals, and loved it so much that I felt I needed one for my bedroom too, so I put it next to my bed and now I'm sleeping a much deeper sleep! I have a Selenite tower and had a section sliced off by a falling frame. I was upset and put it in a corner. Some months later I took a look at it and I noticed that it was regenerating !!! It has been about 5 years and where it was sliced off, a whole new striated skin has grown back. It has been amazing to observe. Sadly, no photo chronicle of regrowth.

Working with Selenite, i've found it to be like another energy field/shield. Holding the space, no matter what for high frequency interaction. With angels & guides. Selenite is a truly blessed stone. God knew what he was doing! It helps greatly with any bone or body pains. And not just temporary relief but lasting healing! Polished selenite is fantastic. Definitely a little more sturdy but still very vulnerable to moisture. Definitely the embodiment of pure positive light in one's aura and one's entire life. Especially for those who pray.

Selenite keeps low vibrations from affecting our energy fields. It allows the inner light that each of us have to shine through clearly and brilliantly. The shine of selenite always reminds me of our nature as light beings who create our universe through conscious awareness and intention. I use my selenite wand to massage with circular clockwise motion to open and cleanse my chakra centers. I also will leave crystals used throughout the day in contact with selenite while I sleep to thoughtfully and lovingly recharge.

Tonight I was nudged to meditate with my selenite crystals.. After taking a detoxing bentonite bath I meditated with my selenite and then smudged with my sage and this was all led by my intuition.. After this I was researching selenite and found that it was basically the “moon crystal”.. I went outside and to my surprise there was a full moon and further confirmation is this beautiful video.. This is bizaar, I received two polished palm pieces of Selenite yesterday and last night during a meditation, I held one piece of Selenite in one hand and in the other a piece of Lapis Lazuli during my "calming meditation" which is a guided meditation at the seaside. I saw an owl on the top of a mountain looking down at me. It was just a quick flash. This was before I found this video today.

I was holding a selenite log. (giant wand ) It was cold as ice and made my hand ache. I said, Oh, You are so cold". And instantly the crystal became room temperature. I guess it heard me. They are very magical. And it has never been that cold again.
