I think that during the saiyan saga, the fact that Vegeta couldn't beat Goku in base form(lost the beam struggle) and have to resort going Oozaru means that to Vegeta, he lost that fight. Going Oozaru is just the nuclear option.

Two greatest speeches in dbz. Vegeta saying Goku is the greatest and best of the saiyens vs buu. Him hyping Goku up in the tournament of power so Goku could beat Jiren. These show Vegeta considered Goku to be the best and this fight would signify that he considered this a true victory.

Vegeta is an overly prideful person, if he wins he wants it to he purely undeniable, full strength, with no crutches or tricks, its excessive, yeah, but you gotta respect the guy for that.

He bested him in saiyan saga but needed outside help along with goku not even taking him seriously in the buu saga and goku surpassing him on cell saga aswell it's valid that he will feel what he felt in that movie

In the Saiyan Saga, i think what Vegeta ment by beating Goku was killing him or knocking him out because Goku was still conscious

The thing about Vegeta is he views power ups as cheep gimmicks relied on when your to weak to defeat an opponent. Considering Super Saiyan is so easily attained nowadays, he doesn’t view it as his own power, it’s just the power of Saiyan’s, which he refers to it as that quit a lot. It’s not the power of Vegeta, it’s the power of the Saiyans. Super Saiyan God he views the same way due to both his and Goku having access to it, and SSJB Evolution was literally just a power that allowed him to stand toe to toe with SSJB Kaio-Ken x20 Goku. Making it a power he had to rely on to keep up with Goku. Thus making any win against Goku in that form feel less earned as he views that power as a crutch which he views Kaio-Ken the same way. He just has a slight bit more respect for that power as it requires its user to harm themselves in order to gain more power, which is a very commendable action.
So there for, winning a fight against him in Base means there was no exterior or other force that could’ve allowed him to win a little easier, such as a power up or transformation. Base to base, goku has almost always been stronger than Vegeta aside when they first met.
So basically, there was always some sort of external force, power up, or transformation that allowed either of the two to win. Making the win feel less earned than it would in base.

Vegeta doesn't consider his fight with SS2 Goku in the Buu saga a L because he had to chop Kakarot and put the fight on hold so he could be the hero. He considers it a L because after doing all that..he found out Goku held back SS3 which WOULD HAVE ended their fight IMMEDIATELY in Goku's favor and potentially beat Buu🤔

he never beat goku in equal conditions. Dud NEEDED ozaru to beat him cuz he was so damn powerful. Then in the buu saga he didn't win against him he just beat him and now in super he finally had his revenge for being humilliated in the saiyan saga having to acces Ozaru

Also with the majin vegeta fight goku didnt go all out and goku later confirmed he did this on purpose so vegeta didnt count it as a real win

Because vegeta doesn't consider those wins. I wouldn't either. In the first fight sure but he was still one jumped and two didn't get the kill and was gonna be killed if not for Goku showing him mercy. And obviously the 2nd fight wasn't a dub as he snuck him after Goku thought the fight was already over. This last fight was his only true win
