Scottish independence: could Britain break up?

The union between the nations of the United Kingdom is looking increasingly fragile, thanks to Brexit. If Scotland were to break away from Britain it would face an uncertain future—as would the rest of the union.

“England joined with Wales in 1536”... don’t think Wales had much of a say in it tbh 😅😂

"[Thatcher] was deeply disliked in Scotland." That''s putting it rather mildly.

"Ireland was strong-armed into the Union"

Yeah, and Poland was "bullied" in 1939.

The problem is that the Brits treated EVERYONE terribly historically.
The Scots want to leave.
The Irish wants to leave.
The welsh ?

would be ironic if brexit that fought for a "strong independent UK" results in their nation being cut in half.

"Ireland was brutally invaded, colonised, starved and put under severe laws and punishments if they didn't renounce their culture, language and religion, causing the country's culture to be on the brink of extinction". Hmm seems too long let's say "strong-armed" instead

"Enland was joined with Wales in 1536". What you mean is that Wales was unilaterally annexed by England's parliament under HenryVIII after having been conquered in 1282 and subsequently brutally subjugated, the latter having been expunged from the historical record. After annexation Wales has been exploited; legal and administrative steps taken in London to destroy the Welsh language. Now Wales is neglected and left to rot by successive Westminster governments, Tory & Labour. If Wales doesn't vote for independence it faces continued neglect and decline. There is no other alternative other than independence of Westminster.

How Englands acquirements of Wales and Ireland was phrased in this presentation is very interesting. Also, my history is a bit hazy but Iam pretty certain that the UK did not "give" the Irish their independence, they had to fight for it.

"But this was short lived, as in 1922 [Ireland] split in two" - I don't think 121 years is that short ngl

UK and Scotland: "arguing over Scotland's indpendance".

The once-mighty "Empire where the sun never sets" reduced to half an island?

What a concept.

Independent Scotland, independent Ireland, independent Whales, independent England. I would admire these independent countries if they manage to achieve their individual independence peacefully and then join in working together to profit and promote each other. PS. Had Britain not left the EU, we would not be having this discussion.
