New Drinking game, every time he says "Also", take a shot. By the end of the video, all these timelines seem plausible.

The steampunk should be more accurately called historical fantasy. Also, on the US revolution losing timeline, wouldn't "America" be another Canada-like semi-autonomous dominion?

If Napoléon won at Waterloo, the colation would have done the same thing they did after he won at Austerlitz: coming back in greater numbers. Waterloo was only a deceisive defeat for Napoléon. as a victory, it would have achieved precisely dick.

What gets me about the “Japan winning The Pacific” timelines is that they always forget Japan had not only to fight and hold the entire South Pacific (Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia) but was actively fighting to take China and Burma so they could access the Strait of Hormuz through India.

Japan couldn’t even take China, so the idea that they could possibly take the even a portion of India is simply hilarious.

Every Axis WW2 victory scenario in a nutshell: what if every allied commander was braindead, every allied soldier was completely incapable of fighting, every Axis commander was Napoleon, and every Axis soldier was the terminator.

I feel like Napoleon's goal at Waterloo was simply survival of his regime, at that point. He wanted to inflict enough casualties on the Seventh Coalition to force them to concede to him continuing to rule France. It he really was as intelligent as people make him out to be, he would've seen rebuilding an empire from that would be nigh impossible at that point.

One bizarre I found had Poland turn on the Warsaw Pact and ends up annexing Hungary, Belarus, Latvia and Lithuania.

What would happen if the United States broke up after the revolution?

Its noteworthy to remember that the US had always been at a disagreement between states before and during the revolution. What implications on the world would it have if the US never really united but somehow got their independence from the UK and is somehow able to hold off against an invasion perhaps via a coalition that is activated if one of the members is attacked just like NATO.

One of the most ridiculous alt histories I have seen is "What if the Mormons won the 'Utah war' and established Deseret"

7:50 the only thing the Japanese could have achieved is to enforce a stalement by inflicting intolerable losses on the US and make their supply situation really Bad. For that to work, the Japanese would have needed to capture pearl Harbor and the entirety of Hawaii.

And only a scenario in which they somehow also manage to hold on to all of hawaii while also succeeding in china can produce any favorable outcome for them.

I've noticed that alt history fiction has 2 common elements that dont make sense. They tend to be be focused on huge world spanning empires that never truly collapse due to internal decline or civil war and often somehow regions/cultures/people end up being very similar to our timeline even if the timelines are drastically different. Its kind of funny but the sword and sorcery world of conan the barbarian is in many ways a lot more realistic in terms of dynamics than the average modern alt history novel.
