man! was hard to find this video, this is exactly what i was wondering, if i added an external amp for my front speakers AND using the preouts of my recievers the volumen control of my receiver will work! and only this video has the answer! thank you :) i know a pre amp is the better way, at least that is what the expert always tell, but 1300$ for a parasound preamp? man... no bueno... at least not rightnow but maybe in the future

Thanks a lot for making this video. I was really struggling to get my amp connected to my music system. God bless.

I have a Denon DRA-435R stereo receiver from the early 1990's. It has a pre out but when you use an external amplifier it does not allow for bass and treble control. Volume and balance are not affected.

Thank you so much for making this video. It helps me to understand how to connect. My question is I have two AVR CAN I use one of them to amplify the front Chanels LCR ? My home theater system is 7.2 thanks 😊

If you have superpower-hungry speakers, you can remove the jumpers on the back and bi-amp by using the speaker terminals for the mids and tweeters and the crown amp for the woofers.

Can you do a video on how to hook up a vintage wifi receiver or amp to a surround sound system. I have a vintage Marantz system that I want to incorporate into a 5-1 surround sound system to make it better sounding.

Hi, i have a Sony STR-DH590 in my living room and a vintage receiver in my she cave. My Sony keeps saying protect i think and then cuts off. I took a shelf out of my cabinet to keep it cooler because i feel alot of heat coming from the top of it. What do you recommend? I thought of maybe hooking a small fan to the wall behind it to blow cooler air onto it. It used to never do this. 😊

I have the 8555 too! Still running it in our two channel system. Awesome piece, built like a tank... just disappointed that it doesn't have a loudness circut or a way to hook up a graphic EQ.

This is great for old high-end stuff or new lower-end stuff. How about wiring from a preamp with the 2 RCA's to a 5-channel amp that has only one RCA input per channel, but 5 altogether?

Thanks, So it must be a pre amp out to work, or to work with the volume at source? Could you use a line out from the receiver?

I am totally blind. I have no vision whatsoever. I recently purchased a Sony receiver model number STR Dash K700 and it did not come with a remote sadly to say. I have a Alexa echo dot from 2021 is shaped like a hockey puck it has one power input slot, and I believe it’s a auxiliary out slot. I would call it, I was curious to know if I can connect this Alexa echo dot to my receiver because this particular model Sony STR Dash K 700 does not have an auxiliary out slot in the front or on the face of the receiver. It only has a microphone out slot so if there is a way I can hook this thing up with a particular style of cord or RCA cord. Would it be possible for you to leave me the name and the model of that particular cord because right now it is just a huge paperweight without the remote I can’t even change the tune up or tune down for AMN FM stations, thank you so much. I pray you can help keep up the great work.
