This is part 2 of our navigating the maze of USB standards can be a daunting task for even the most seasoned IT professionals. In this comprehensive video, we unravel the confusion surrounding the various versions of USB, especially the complex USB 3.2 standard which comes in four distinct flavors, each with unique performance characteristics and connector requirements. Learn why short, certified cables are crucial for high-speed data transfer and how mismatching high-performance storage devices with older USB ports can bottleneck your system's capabilities. We’ll also demystify the terminology like SuperSpeed and SuperSpeed+, and delve into the critical role of bridge chips in USB enclosures to ensure you're maximizing performance. Discover why understanding these nuances is essential in today’s tech landscape, and why both consumers and IT pros often find themselves bewildered by USB’s evolution.

More excellent information on USB4. I love the various USB analyzing/discovery softwares. Very eye opening advice regarding cable length, controller chips, and enclosures. The videos you have made over the years have really helped to expand my IT knowledge. Thanks again and Be Blessed!

Another carefully researched, high quality video. Packed with useful information. Thank you.
I am currently researching the impact of using magnetic USB C connectors. They reduce wear on USB C ports, for example on laptops and phones. The apps you detail here will help with assessing how these connectors impact USB performance.

Hi
Very good video. Keep going.
If I can sugest you can show some more USB tools. For example tools with which we can check if our USB stick is legitimate product or fake chineese product like tool validrive or hwtest2. Or for example how to change "hardware" presentation on windows for some USB drives. Show how to change that USB drive is installed and presented in Windows like hard drive. Because for some situatiion people need that.
Anyway I watch your videos and like your presentation, keep going with these videos!?
Cheers and good luck!

You didn't mention anything about the device drivers for USB 4 ? i found over the years that you can not connect USB devices directly to a computer. You need to have some type of USB hub or docking station to suppy the current and to prevent the voltage drop over long wires Once the 5 volt rail drops, the device stops working or thee performance goes way down on external hard drives USB should be data lines only to the internal hub bus and a external hub supplying the voltage and current Some of my Aegia hard drives are like that where you have to plug in a 12 volt supply to make them run and the USB cable is for sending and receiving data
