Tesla Autopilot reactions: close calls, fails, and saves.
Buckle up for fifteen never-before-seen videos from 2023.

Looking for a dashcam? We recommend VIOFO:

In this episode, Tesla owner shares their experiences in crashes, near misses, hit & runs, and other Tesla Sentry Mode events in Episode 200 of Teslacam Stories, the ultimate Tesla show.

Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners' real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiasts. I contact each person who sends me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up on what happened after what we see on their video. Voice-over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.

From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

Voiceover recorded and edited by ▶ Ben & Melissa Anderson of @pnweventures

Parents... watch your children better. That Father didn't even seem the least bit concerned that his son ran into the path of a moving car.

Tesla replays should include an optional small head-up showing when autopilot applied the brakes/steering. Another for when the driver did. Can place the head-ups anywhere want on the replay. They could update the software to do this! Upvote and the idea may reach Tesla!

it doesn't look like the farther was very concerned. He casually walked over to check on his kid

At the age of 5 I ran out between 2 parked car and ended up with a broken pelvis. At the age of 80, I’m still paying for it! Parents, PLEASE, watch your kids, they’re special!!👶

#15, the crew needed a traffic control flagger to waive down traffic so the truck can back in. Otherwise, how are drivers supposed to know that the truck is trying to back into an unmakred construction site in full flow traffic without any traffic control?

#13: in my experience with FSD and these types of turn lanes, FSD is not very aggressive at moving to the right early-on when there is a right turn lane as a normal human driver would do. This confuses drivers in the rear because based on the behavior it doesn’t appear that you are intending to turn right so instinctively the driver behind thinks you are going straight. It’s one of my complaints with FSD as well. FSD needs to turn the blinker on sooner and move to the right so people from behind can read your intentions. I’m constantly having to look in my rear view mirror on these types of right hand turn’s because if someone is right behind you, they will try to sneak. I usually disengage FSD in these situations and turn the blinker on and move to the right. I wouldn’t blame the driver behind because years of human driving evolution has trained us to read the car language in front of us and FSD needs more refinement in this area.

For #8! That’s a local homeless man named Sean who often wonders into traffic. I’ve nearly hit him a few times and about a month ago he was clipped by a bus but kept on going. Be careful driving around the parks because there’s a lot of homeless but most are very sweet guys. Be safe out there! 5:43

What happened with looking both ways before crossing the road? Both my mom and school hammered that in my head so much when I was a kid...

#1 was a joint effort. Jan was driving too fast and was not merging as the lane markings directed. Jan didn't merge because she saw the truck slowing and heading for the right shoulder with no blinkers being used. The Crazy Ivan performed by the truck driver was nearly the final nail in the coffin. Fortunately for Jan there was no contact made!

#8 - The submitter clearly needs to learn what "too late to stop for a light that turns yellow" truly means before he causes as accident trying to beat the lights.

Good that you're bringing up both the good and the bad. Most of the time it's seems like the autopilot is amazing, but sometimes it makes mistakes, and it's so good (and important) to be honest about it

5:01 did Simon say Simon says before he activated autopilot?
because if not, it's probably him doing the maneuver :)

@9:23 pause and look at it. The truck was pulled over to the right. No signals for making a left. No hand gestures. The truck driver failed to signal. And then the truck driver didn't check the mirrors. It was easy to see cars approving from the rear through the mirror. That's why you have mirrors. That truck drivers needs their license taken away immediately and fined. Only have it back after passing a driving test again

The fact that the kid was holding an iPad and his father was just standing there….

Amazing that people "driving" get so dependent on the automation of the vehicle that they defer to it and "don't know whether they did it or the car". This, ladies and gentlemen, is distracted driving!

#13, The other driver entered the bike lane too early before it became a dotted line and when it was a solid line, indicating when to go and not to go into the right turn lane to cross over the bike lane. However, the Tesla did still in fact cut off the car that entered the bike lane too early and could've prevented the cut-off by checking their mirrors (which they probably didn't due to FSD) before entering the bike lane so it's kind of hard for me personally to tell who is at fault but I think the other driver is entirely at fault.

Thank you, Tesla, for all the safety features specifically for the people who dont know if they had anything to do with the maneuver that prevented an accident.

#7 well I expect the police were talking about Chao Ma. You must be sleeping on the wheel to not notice that car. 6:09
