I think that is the shader cache. Valve should just put that one with the game install instead of all on the main drive.

Had the same issue. Downloaded the Decky Loader Storage Cleaner plugin. Solved.

Upgrade the SSD if you havent yet. I know this video is a year old.
Solidigm makes a 1tb drive sold for 64 bucks on newegg. Im using that right now.

its the shader cache and compatdata, every time you install something it creates shaders and compatibility files for each program, but when you uninstall the games it doesn't remove the shaders or compatibility files, which build up... eg.. red dead's shaders are 8gb, currently you can't change the drive where these files are stored

Honest question: Why does it matter? If a game is on the ssd or an sd card. At the end of the day, the game is still there.
Giving it some thought the deck isnt that powerful so the storage doesnt seem like it would be the limiting factor if you buy a v2 sd card.

Hard drives are so cheap and easy upgrade even 10 months ago. Anyone who buys a 64B has to know this. Would you buy a 64GB HD on a laptop? Of course not!

clear your cache or upgrade the ssd. its super simple and i upgraded my 64gb to a 512gb
