How much does it *really* cost to start and run a profitable blogging business?

Hello cutest mommy ever! I agree with what you said up to a certain but I will add that the costs of a blog depend on the niche. You are mostly in the make money online niche that's why email marketing is essential. If I have a blog about lets say grooming that every product is cheap then the email list is not as needed. I think that most money when you start a blog should be spent on content, mobile speed optimization(theme, caching plugin, fast hosting, etc), backlinks (guest posts optional) and a keyword tool like ahrefs, semrush etc.

Why don’t you use mail chimp for your email list and pop ups? Any particular reason?

Continuing from the first comment I left on your Monthly Income Report vid - your expenses indicate a system. All the YT vids I watched over the last few days of bloggers talking about their income all mentioned: Convert kit, Pinterest, Tailwind, Blue Host, selling printables and courses (some ppl had free printables), etc.

I know that all businesses need to have an email list for many reasons (you don't own social media platforms and you own your email list + you market to your list and build the relationship with your community).

I have MailChimp, not convert kit. I didn't know it mattered.

I haven’t been able to find an answer anywhere as to why it’s not a good idea for bloggers (even beginners) to hire writers instead of writing their blog posts themselves. Would it not grow the business to an actual 6 figure business and so much faster ? Is it because everyone is just trying to get into blogging without putting a cent into the business ?
